Ironically, they are curing cancer, among other genetic diseases. That was the point of this experiment, to see if they could alter genes for genetic research. They altered a skin gene, it doesn't effect the cat at all, except that it glows in UV light, it doesn't hurt it, it was actually an incredibly humane experiment. The title and description of this video clearly indicates they are cloning these cats to produce the glow in the dark protein RFP.  So, get your facts straight before trying to rebuke my comment.
