Like along the live rails? It was a massive flashoverfrom the escalators - there was nowhere to go, and those few who went down to the platforms met surges of people coming up (it was rush hour at on of London's busiest interchanges) and the following trains went through w/o opening their doors.

It was 7.30 pm, well after rush hour (but still busy, of course.)

Many trains did stop, although order not to officially (I think many simply didn;t get the message.)

I'm interested in this, and have read the report.

Most of the casualties were in the ticket hall, where the flashover occurred- although officals had already evacuated.
