  • That was a lot to take in even on TWA 800 those people didn't have a change. RIP

  • She's got laser eyes!

  • the flight attendant is staring into your sole....

  • The people on TWA 800 thought they were in good hands and they would NOT be in an emergency. Only to die about 10 minutes after takeoff!

  • @XXXGhostGrenadeXXX TWA merged with American Airlines!!! :)

  • @2012Mrlego Just die you S.O.A.B! I wish you were on this flight!

  • @2012Mrlego You sir have a small penis and no sole. Enjoy hell and loneliness.

  • The plane saw in this video was the one that crashed!!!

  • u can smoke on the plane????????

  • I like those 747-1 & 200s. Even though majority are cargo planes or scrapped, they have a nostalgia factor to them. Wish they had the stretched upper decks think about it. A twa 747-100SUD that would be awesome.

  • Please watch the Trans World Airlines Lockheed L-1011 Safety Video and tell me that this video was made after the L-1011 one! I thought it was a completely different woman! And the uniform is a disgrace! If you hadn't heard her voice in the L-1011 version, you'd have thought that she was a man! Bad hair and a tie!

  • the stewardess is crazy!!

  • That Incident Happend On The Day Iwas born!

    (July 17, 1996)

  • @70Jack90 That was a week after me!

  • @70Jack90 She looks stoned!

  • fuck TWA worst airlines we ever took assholes fly right into the turbulence!!! thank god they went to hell american and jetblue are better

  • RIP flight 800

  • I remember when you could still smoke on an airplane! This brings back memories or my child hood around when this video was probably made and my Nana would smoke on the aircraft.

  • Is it me? What's wrong with that stewardess's eyes? Proper scary!

  • I bet this video was shown on flight 800.

  • I love these old style 80's airplane videos. My uncle used to fly for TWA. It was a great airline. Right now my favorite airline is Lufthansa, but if TWA was still around, it'd be one of them.

  • a little taste of the 1970s, it does look like its from the 70s

  • Was this around the time when peanuts in small packs were popular among airlines???

  • That passenger using the life vest from 3:20-3:59 sort of reminds me of Carl Weiss, of "A.M. Weather" fame.

  • they allow smoking on TWA

  • How DARE YOU!? said Bowser, BUHAHAH

  • i hate modern airline economy classes! you get zip legroom and no more meals and perks. friggin ridiculous economy >:(

  • if u fly economy with asian carriers ,u wont said that.

  • Comment removed

  • only true with the bigger airlines in America, such as United and American. on the LCCs, however, you get much better service in economy. (jetBlue, for example.)

  • nice :D i heard virgin america is just like jetBlue... only in red XD

  • Blame the customers. They chose lower prices *every time* - hence the airlines decide to start charging fees so they can still make money.

  • Nice shifting the buck when the blame lies on both sides. Not all customers choose "lower prices 'ever time'". Not all airlines know how to run an airline even when the margins are increased.

  • Pax who tend to pay more tend to fly first class or are loyal frequent flyers.

Prior to the internet passengers did not have an easy way of comparing ticket prices. Once the internet came, passengers began to choose the lowest ticket prices.

The real costs of ticket prices have plummeted, which is why airlines now charge fees. It's not a "blame" in that pax are wrong for doing so. It is just how things are; people want the lowest prices for plane tix. Please accept that, wr.

  • BTW: Alaska Airlines does not have bag fees on flights within Alaska, where the airline is a monopoly and has pricing power. Alaska charges more money for intra-Alaska flights than it does for flights within the lower 48. The flights within the lower 48 have bag fees that apply because the airline doesn't have as much pricing power.

  • Because passengers have opted for paying less money instead of getting perks - Real prices of airline tickets have declined.

  • women was having fun at 1:45 even though this was ment to be 'serious'

  • 0:06 ZOMG! TW Express EMB-120 Probably operated by Air Midwest.

  • "extinguish your cigarettes" LOL

  • Oh My God the 230 people on flight 800 saw this video rite before they died.

  • yea thats very true, makes me feel very sad to know that :-(

  • @miamibeach1791 yeah but not the exact video.

  • Ladies and gentleman, now that we have taken off, I will use my laser eyes to eat your soul.

  • Can anyone find the most recent TWA safety video? The one with the new logo and stuff, right before they mergered. I know they have one.

  • Comment removed

  • actually, TWA was bought out by American Airlines in 2001.

  • bai prostule,nu vezi ca e film vechi?

  • TWA disappeared after the TWA 800 disaster

  • TWA at that time had one of the oldest fleet in the world. their aircraft were soo old like the B747-100 from the first built ever. which is why TWA 800 crashed because of an old fuse that sparked the center wing fuel tank and destroyed the aircraft.

  • I loved TWA. Although the flight attendant in this video looks a little like an android...LOL Also...the part about putting out your cigarettes...LOL

  • I managed to bid on a TWA life jacket on Ebay! It's cool!

  • Yes... but how you deflate it?

  • or 70's

  • TWA used pretty old aircrafts! The aircraft in this vid could be 20 years old! Atleast it wasn't like where American airlines retired their 707's in the 90's!

  • Actually, American retired the 707 in 1981

  • Thnx! Sorry I live in Australia I know more about BA, Air NZ and QANTAS rather than these american airlines. But Gee American kept those 707s for quite a while!

  • @airobsessed

Closer to 30 years old, actually. I flew TWA in August of 1996. My flight from Austin to St. Luis was on a DC-9-15 from 1968, and the St. Luis - London flight was a 747-100 built in 1972.

  • TWA was great until American bought them out.

  • Then TWA stopped existing

  • Cigaretts???? WHAT THE FACK Is wwrong with this airlines????/ Smoking kills >=[

  • back then, it was legal to smoke onboard flights.

  • I know that. But whhy would they let them smok? And to all who put a thumbs down on my comment let me says 3 things

I was asking WHY would they let them smoke ? It kills. And I KNOW it was legal. Stupid twats :3

  • Because your comment seemed uninformed; it's not just "this airlines" - it was all of them back then. By the late 1980s airlines began to ban smoking.

Keep in mind this is a historical video. Nowadays very few airlines allow smoking.

  • The cigarettes part at 2:12 is hilarious. Interesting to know what kind of safety features they offered, very different from today although this was a few years before I was born.

    Note the absence of PTVs.

  • 懷念747 100

  • Those slides are pretty cool, but I find a major flaw with them. Elderly or disabled people cannot handle the jump that is required to go down them. I know my Grandmother WOULD NOT be able to do that...and that really worries me.

  • to be honest, the chances of you ever getting the chance to use one of those slides in an emergency is pretty slim. it's kinda true though ... what ARE they supposed to do?

  • haha Is That MacGyver?? LOL

  • are you talking about the lady :P

  • SHE WANTS TO EAT YOUR SOUL WITH HER LASER EYES! mwa ha ha ha ha ha ha ha >:D

  • Look How Spooked They Are When Masks Come Down!

  • Whats ambassador class? is that like business?

  • no i think it was first class.

  • Ambassador Class was TWA's version of Business Class before they went become a two-class carrier internationally by combining First and Business Class and introdcing Trans World One sometime around 1994/95.

  • Really interesting vid.......but the FA creeps me out a bit. Her face lacks emotion and she speaks like a robot.

  • that's one small lifevesrÜ

  • sweet Jesus, she gives me the willies.

  • sweet mary mother of god, the people on TWA 800 watched this exact same video before they died. woah.

  • I was thinking the exact same thing... what a way to go, the aft section kept climbing for few thousand feet.

  • it might not have been the safety video played on TWA800, because they stopped using this video in 1992 or 93, and the accident happened in 1996.

  • @MattA2010

The one it was replaced with must have been very similar then. I flew a TWA 747-100 a month after 800 went down. I could swear this is the same video they showed on that flight.

  • Geesh I really hate smokers, (T_T) they totally stink, if they get near me on a bus or a train or in a mall, I always get dizzy (x_x) with the awful smell they bear, but If I could imagine riding on that plane with smokers, and smoke filling the plane, maybe I wont last in the air...good thing smoking habits in the air is gone(^_^)

  • It's so wonderful to fly these days WITHOUT disgusting smokers polluting the air with their toxic habit. Fuck all smokers. Smokers ought to be segregated in their own land where they get cancer and die quick.

  • hey asshole, watabout second hand smokers? u suck, don't deny it.

  • Isnt it fatal to smoke in airplane??????

  • carnt you tell its an old film and look at the plane its the 747 100 one of the first 747s. and its not fatel untill you burn something, star a fire or use ur lighter to light a fuse.

  • A fuse for what?

  • a bluddy bomb if im correct they do pose a small health and safty problem when they go off

  • What a long and detailed video! Most of the aircraft safety videos today are under 4 minutes!

  • its awful what American Airlines did to EX TWA employees!

  • TWA RIP 250 passengers of twa 800.

  • there were 230 people on board, not 250.

  • whats the difference? they all died a horrible death & we cannot disrespect their memory!

  • They let you smoke! This must have been old.

  • I wanna know abou she.. if someone know please let me know!!!!

  • It's Probolay From 1986, 1987, 1988, 1989, 1990, 1991 Or 1992

  • I would think you are probably correct, because 1986 and 1987 I believe were around the time TWA painted the engines on the 747s white. Prior to then, they were bare metal.

  • god imiss this airline .. they made flying enjoyable again :)

  • American Airlines sucks ASS! TWA was the best!

  • actually, they do suck! what kind of air line fires 15,000 ppl for no reason!? TELL ME THAT DIPSHIT!!!

  • thats why AA is America's number 1 airline.

  • for now. when the Delta-Northwest merger is finished, Delta will take their place as the #1 US carrier, in service, route system and fleet size.

  • i doubt it..i mean Delta is great, but Jetblue is deffintley growing at rapid speed. If anything, AA and Delta will be One and Two, and then Jetblue (if they keep it up) will eventually dominate, until they reach the top and then start charging more money.

  • well, that's true, i mean, Delta, jetBlue and Southwest are the only US carriers that are not in financial trouble.

  • actually, Northwest is doing better than Delta. Delta is having a bit of financial problems....

  • both are doing well. They are both climbing over the obstacle of bankrupcy. Delta recently got out of Chapter 11.

  • you've got that right :D and they've made some AMAZING changes around atlanta!

  • NW and DL both entered Chapter 11 on the samed day in the same court room. The exited 1 month to the day apart in 2007. NW is still doing much better financially.

  • I guess that means Delta will finally have the 747.

  • they actually had some 747-100s in the 1970s. it would be so cool for them to have the newer -400s!

  • what about 747-8's?

  • NWA doesn't have any 747-8's in their fleet, only 747-400s.

  • Actually, TWA was doing fine when they were bought out. American intervened and was able to make the carrier look pathetic by buying them out. and then, after that, american regretted it because TWA had very little assets to offer considering the cost of the deal. it's disturbing that you think it's so great that american laid off thousands of hard-working TWA employess.

  • she's a cutie

  • Wow they usually have them for 2 mins these days...this one goes for 5 minutes!

  • A very long video!

  • i wonder if this is what the victims of TWA Flight 800 saw before their plane exploded over the Atlantic?

  • i guessing. but how about posting MORE OPTIMISTIC comments, please? at least to respect the 230 fatalities

  • lol

  • china airlines 737-800 crashed in japan

  • ... and how does this relate to TWA or the 747?

  • is that twa 800

  • That lady has a boring crap voice!!!!!

  • look its twa -800

  • who is she? whats her name?

  • How the hell do we know.

  • The slide inflated a little slowly. Has anyone actually used a life vest or life raft? I doubt it.

  • A China Airlines B-747-400 overran the runway at Kai Tak International Airport in Hong Kong, ending up in the harbor. All passengers and crew donned their life-vests, and all slide/rafts were used. No fatalities.

  • How the hell can you over run a runway? Was the pilot a penguin?

  • When an Ethiopian jet crashed in the water, people used life vests...

  • Unfortunately, for the Ethiopian airliner, most people survived the initial impact, but they panicked and inflated their life vest inside the aircraft. Because water was already inside, they were pulled to the ceiling and couldn't get out...they drowned sadly :(

  • Hence why you're never supposed to open it inside the plane.

  • This is an old video.. They still allowed smoking here XD

  • When will you post more safety videos?

  • is TWA also wanna the popular international airline? i love Air Malta

  • It was... American Airlines absorbed TWA in 2001.

  • the guy using one of the oxygen masks turnes red while using one.

  • I love the slide scene. They stumble to their feet and run like hell.

  • Yeah, notice at 01:19, off-screen, that passenger seems to completely fall on her face in despite of the other passenger trying to catch her!

  • TWA was in the most airplane movies!

  • TW got into many movies and TV dramas. Even if it was just stock footage of the plane taking off and landing. Interestingly, there's a few 747-400 ac painted in 90s TWA livery in the 2005 movie JARHEAD, set in 1990. Bad research ... TW never flew the -400!

  • Wow it's so amazing to see the old TWA 747. I sure miss those everytime I go into JFK. Also it's hard to believe that one could smoke onboard the plane back in the 80s. I'm glad that you cannot smoke aboard as I am highly allergic to Tobbaco.

  • Great! Thank you for sharing!

  • Wow..can't believe someone posted this. I used to fly on TWA weekly on an L1011 and they ran this video too. Believe it or not...this stupid jingle still goes thru my head (the music in the beginning). When u hear it weekly for several years it stays with you. I sure miss TWA...they were so great until Carl Ichan and AA destroyed them.

  • I am so glad you posted this. I, too, have had the jingle in my head for years. Whoever wrote that had some skill. I have been searching for a recording for a long time...thank you!

  • I miss TWA!!! Awesome video!

  • Kinda weird to see people smoking on the airplanes.Guess it is hard to find those videos

  • I miss TWA!!!

  • what yr is this?

  • Good explaining about operating exits. And they show you the smoke detector. Most airlines dont do that, Except Delta.

  • Lol Air New Zealand does. At least they used to

  • I wonder, wouldn't "disabling, or destroying" smoke detectors logically be counted as tampering?

    AWSOME upload.

  • how come they dont have the seat cushions anymore ? its a good idea

  • Because if in an emergency and evacuation everyone is grabbing the cushions and it makes it harder to get to an exit and is wasting time.

  • Very detailed!

  • that lady scares me with those eyes...hhahahah

  • Wow...this is a very thorough safety video! Great :)

  • Yeah, I was going to say the same thing! This one says stuff that does not appear on most safety videos like to look outside before opening the exit, how to detach the life raft, that the oxygen mask bag inflates depending on the altitude... I love it!

  • good point. most safety demos today leave out specific details like the ones you mention. they are dumbed down in consideration of the flying public today who 1) can't be bothered to turn off their electronic devices, 2) think they don't need to pay attention because they've been on a flight before 3) don't want to think about anything unpleasant and are in denial about emergencies.

  • where do you get the videos
