Keep in mind this is a historical video. Nowadays very few airlines allow smoking.

Believe it or not...this stupid jingle still goes thru my head (the music in the beginning). When u hear it weekly for several years it stays with you. good point. most safety demos today leave out specific details like the ones you mention. they are dumbed down in consideration of the flying public today who 1) can't be bothered to turn off their electronic devices, 2) think they don't need to pay attention because they've been on a flight before 3) don't want to think about anything unpleasant and are in denial about emergencies.
