if you create a burn effect with this like a healed burn scar, can you reuse that same piece over and over and still get that same effect? If so, how much more work will it be to reapply it and what would u use?

@Hyperspazzman I find that it is just easier to create a new appliance, but in a pinch, it can be done. You will just need enough thickene Gel-10 to stick it down and re blend the edges which may make the appliance a little larger.

could you make a mask out of gel-00? would the mouth move if i use gel-10 or will it only with gel-00? Can you help me i want to make a silicone freddy krueger mask which is better and how much would i need can you maybe make a vid about it

@simpsonsfan710 Gel-00 is a great mask material. keep in mind that facial movement will depend on how well you configure the mold and the lifecast.

hello i have a full mask made out of gel 00, the line up of the mouth is a little off, if i added the gel 10 as you did here would it stick well to the mouth area and chin so the mouth will line up right, and if i do this once can i do it again because the mask will be used for a haunted house over 5 days.

@elvisev Depends on how clean the silicone is. Silicone will bond to clean, oil free silicone.

if im making a mold of a full head mask can i use platinum silicone to cast the mask in ? and if so what particular silicone should i use that will work well but wont be too expensive ? and will i only be able to use that mold for casting in silicone after that?

@nodnarbreleehw i haven't tried this, but I have heard that a piece can be painted with skin illustrator and then sealed with a clear coat of gel-10.

is there anyway we could see how to do something of like ,the whole process ,like were can we learn how to make the molds and how to lay the silcone in the mold for the casting and stuff like that,cool video but were just seeing how to glue it on and paint it and put the acrylic eye,life casting is easy enough but how can we see how to cast the appliance and make the mold

What is the benefit of using Gel 00 as opposed to just using Gel 10 for the appliance?

@kdfcreative An appliance like this would typically be made with Gel-10 deadened 150-180% and encapsulated with straight Gel-10 or cap plastic. Gel-00 allows a very "dry" appliance to be made that is already soft like deadened Gel-10 but minus the oily properties. Additional Deadener may be added to soften Gel-00 if needed.
