  • Far much better than the original from Abba !!!!!

  • quaint, quirky and so different - love it!

  • Well put together! Thanks!

  • Her voice is abit.............. er.........weird.

I can't believe u all like it. AND WHAT THE HECK WAS THAT PICTURE AT THE START????

  • @lisewasp believe it or not they have an extensive fanbase due to the type of lovely music they make and if you knew their other work, you'd understand.

  • Absolutely superb. X

  • Very nice. Now Tracyanne, hurry up and record a cover of The Winner Takes it All and my heart will be yours.

  • superb, thank you

  • It's unfair to compare the original to newer versions - this is very well done and is a pleasure to listen to . It's a great song anyway. Well done for this lovely rendition. 5 stars.

  • Love it too...What album has this on ??? Tried one and it wasn't on.....

  • beautiful love it!

  • beautiful love it!

  • AMAZING!!!!! I am buying their album tomorrow!!!!!!!

  • Fantastic cover. Not trying to be Abba, and not trying to change the song. Thanks to radion 2 playing it.

  • Thumbs Up If Dermot O Leary Off Xfactor Brought U Here !

  • OMFG i officially love Camera Obscura!!

  • It's a very lovely version, I agree, thank you for sharing it.

  • crap..

  • At first I was kinda... I dunno, but then I was like... wow. I like it, lots.

  • I have showed this around people do like it.

  • I listen to this song at 5:30 every morning on my way to work. Thank you for such a gorgeous cover

  • i need only music (track) of super trouper, can u tell me fromwhere i can download it...?

  • I more times i listen to it the more I love it. A work of art. And her voice, it leaves me speachless.

  • The mood of this version surely points more clearly to the melancholic direction of the lyrics; beautiful

  • Holy smack. One of my favorite bands performing one of my favorite songs. Instant fave!!

  • "Super Trouper" is in my top five favorite ABBA songs and I usually hate covers of it. ABBA's version is really quite perfect. However, I LOVE this version simply because it doesn't try to be the ABBA version and takes a different twist on the original in a style I happen to like. So from me, two thumbs up!

  • @onmemorylane I could`nt agree more :)

  • @onmemorylane I agree 100%. This version is awesome.

  • don't know exactly why - but I like this version too ... a great Abba fan

  • This post is 10/15/210. Given the loneliness expressed in the "It get's better" videos recently emerging, the loneliness in this artists voice fits well. Great stuff.

  • @MissLisa1970 I completely agree with you. The original version's lyrics are hidden by "sup-p-per troup-p-per". "I don't feel blue" sounds like "I don't feel suit", or something similar.

  • Comment removed

  • @HaoleLani No, I love Abba but I am curious to see if this comment will be posted as Mr Ahole Lani's channel seems to be defunct. Oh well...

  • isn't the whole point of a cover, to make it different?

I rather like both versions of this.

...you'd complain if they covered it EXACTLY like ABBA.

  • Wow who sings this song? It's amazing. I know the original is by ABBA of course, I love them and their music. Specially FRIDA she is amazing!

  • @belltocher

BULLSHIT!!! These vocals are beyond emotionless. My ears hurt!

    This is total crap!

  • So I'll be there when you arrive. The sight of you will prove to me I'm still alive.

  • I think they found the heart and soul of this song. I can't realy compare this to the original , it's a diff song and I love it.

  • Great version!!! I like it!!!

  • I like this, but I don't love it. I can't get past her affected vocals. Really irritating.

  • bellisimo

  • I wasn't expecting to like this, but it's a fantastic version of Super Trouper...love it !

  • I'm not a fan of the band, but for some reason I really like this cover.

  • What a great version of this song. I love hearing all the different versions of my fav songs. It does sound sad, but like someone said, it brings out the true feelings and words to this song. Thnx for posting. 5 stars.

  • ........I like this version as well. But even outside of this song, why does Tracy AnnCampbell seem like such a sad woman? I just want to give her a hug and tell that everything will be alright. Looking her up on google, it is hard to find a picture of her with a smie.

  • It seems she sings so she can overcome her sadness.

  • Check out the youtube video "Amplified Camera Obscura" where TracyAnn talks a little about her depression. It's insightful.

  • Thanks lioncobra. Insightful. It saddens me that she is so sad. Seems that the problem might be not much more profound than a common heartache over a lost love. Some people take longer to get over past loves than others. I wish her nothing but the best in life. Someday I hope she becomes a happier woman and lives a joyful life.

  • @2lioncobra That was nice. I like her honesty and her shyness. It's becoming on her.

  • so so sad version just sums up agnetha's hate of touring

  • I know I will sound unpopular here, but I don't like this version of the song. The pictures are great though. I like the way the girls sing but the mood doesn't match ABBA style. ABBA brings me joy, this singing has brought me DOWN. When I feel like listening to gloomy music, I look for Damian Rice.

  • Nice vid! Is it an official Camera Obscura vid or did you put this together? I like the words and the pictures, the ABBA story is so sad and this version really hits the nail. Just saw Camera Obscura the other night. So detached, they were really great although they didn't play this cover. Thanx for posting this!

  • LOVE IT!

  • beautiful melancholy spin to this classic rock song

  • To someone who was brought up with the original versions it is quite a discovery indeed that I can actually enjoy (and very much) this remarkable cover. Actually, it brings out the lyrics more... Thank you!

  • Really lovely, it's mu ch sadder than the original

  • Camera Obscura can do no wrong. Love the original, of course, but this is a beautiful, touching version with Tracyanne's remarkable vocals. Thanks for this!

  • This is indeed a rare find. An ABBA cover that deviates from the original but doesn't suck. I'm tempted to say that it's actually quite good.

    Thanks for uploading it.

  • A great wee version of Super Trouper. Thanks for posting and thanks for recording to Camera Obscura.

  • What a wonderful version, Shay! I really loved!

  • Glad you found it Nicole! thanks

  • This is a lot slower and calmer Shay, and is nice when you want a change - but Abba's more dynamic and tuneful version is preferred!

  • Cheers John, thanks for 'taking a chance' on this version!

  • This post is dated 10/15/2010. There has been some college suicides in America recently, and there is a loneliness in this version that fits where we are today. "It does get better" campaign should wake us all up to listen. Just listen.

  • As much is I like ABBA:s original version, this has even more soul. A song for slow, rainy tuesdays.

  • a good version, actually

  • Very interesting interpretation, Shay. The musical part is really great. Nice and mellow.

Thanks a lot for the posting.

    JF

  • This lady is a fabulous singer. I am now a real Camera Obscura fan. :o)

  • Thank you Michael xxx

  • nothing like a fine whine

  • Sooo beautiful :D Luv it :D

  • Takk Anita! love it too

  • This is such a beautiful cover, but you couldn't expect anything less from Camera Obscura. ^_^

  • ANOTHER FLAWLESS CAMERA OBSCURA COVER

One or my favorite songs too

  • WOW. Hypnotic.

  • beautiful

  • Thanks Shay,i enjoyed Camera Obscura's take on the Abba classic.I hadn't heard of them before now.

  • I LOVE THIS

  • "Just amazing; so sad, so beautiful"

they really seem to capture the pathos and longing in the song.......something that i don't think i _really_ appreciated before

i think this is a little gem

  • Th real version's just a bit overdone, such that the longing is sort of lost in the fuzz and fluff. Here, stripped and slowed down, it's much more poignant. Brilliant stuff.

  • I didn't like it. I prefer the real version.

  • i agree. it's not a bad version but nowhere close to the energy or magic of the original. this is like super troupers on heroine hahaha

  • Just amazing; so sad, so beautiful.

  • I just want to echo all of the positive comments about this video.......

2Shaymcn, you've done a great job marrying this great cover with the slideshow pics of ABBA

    _really_ nice

  • "magnificent version, gives me goosepimples from head to toe. "

i completely agree.....when a song can be stripped of all its production/artifice and still 'hit home' the way this does, it's a mark of a great songwriter/songwriting team

  • magnificent version, gives me goosepimples from head to toe.

  • I love ABBA songs, but this version has more depth. Camera Obscura are somehow not mainstream- only the public and radio stations can answer this. Maybe they will yet do an Elbow and make it!

  • wow, bloody great that!

  • 1:22 - Hmm, Benny's a Phillies' Phan, eh?

  • The pairing of this excellent live recording of Camera Obscura and the 100+ vintage ABBA photos plus some VERY skillful video editing is the reason I have watched this clip hundreds of times. Thanks for creating this, it deserves a gold medal!

  • Absolutely beautiful cover version!

  • Sorry, that should be: they have done for ABBA what Aztec Camera did for Van Halen's Jump. Showed the feeling beneath the glittery surface. Thank you for the music.

  • They have for ABBA what Aztec Camera (!) did for Van Halen.

  • fro the ones who want to download this on m3, try using the atube catcher, it's an app to get youtube videos, there u can just paste the link and get only the audio

i love that cover, tanx so much for posting

  • thank you so much for posting this--- <3

  • i've been trying to download this as an mp3 since i first heard it on the radio - any ideas where i could find it - i love it

  • Thank You for The Cover Version from Camera Obscura!!!!

  • nice. tracyanne is amazing.

  • this was recommended for me by YT:)

always a pleasure revisting this great cover, thanks again for the upload Shay!

  • Thanks for stopping by again Elin, I never get tired of this cover either

  • Awesome.

  • Huh? It definitely sounds like Tracyanne!

  • It's definitely Traceanne, unless Victoria Bergsman has suddenyl developed a Scottish accent.

  • I was in Singapore when they played this. A great rendition of a great song!

  • gorgeous, poignant stuff.

  • Great cover version, well done!

  • i watched them play this yesterday at their concert!

    it was awesome!

    tracyanne is so cute and quirky (-;

  • Thanks for the info, they have a cool, quirky sound that adds something special to this

  • kann mia das lied schicken per msn das ist s affenarsch geil ich liebe es bitte ..5/5!!!!!!

  • Absolutely beautiful cover version! They really brought out the melancholy feel to the song.

  • I saw Camera Obscura perform this lovely bittersweet tune last summer at Sound Fix (Brooklyn) and this video just took me back to that hot, sweaty, magical night. The excellent ABBA photos are a bonus. Nice job, thanks!

  • Thanks for sharing that story, sounds like a good gig

  • To take one of the greatest pop songs ever and to improve it 100% is no easy task, but Camera Obscura have done it. Love the surface noise too.

  • They add a little something special of their own to it

    Thanks

  • Its blasphemy to say, but I think this truly wonderful version is the best interpretation of Björns lyrics. Shoot me!

  • Yeah, love this version too but would have really loved to hear ABBA do an 'unplugged' version

  • Fantastic! How can I get this on mp3???

  • Absolutely fantastic development of a classic. Heard this live on a Radio 1 (?) session last summer and loved it. Glad to see it posted. Thanks.

  • Its a great interpretation,thanks, I believe it was a Dermot O'Leary Session on BBC R1

  • I love this version! Thanks so much! :)

  • You're welcome

  • Like this kind of sad sound here in the voice and accompaniment is soooo good! Thank you Shay for the nice cover version!

  • I think they capture something here Laura, with this version

  • A "sui generis" rhythm for this success of ABBA, Shay! I liked the sound, but I think the rhythm would be less "crawling". The pics are very good, for sure! Thanks for sharing with us this different version!

  • Thanks DJ, it is different from the orignal with the laid back sound

  • you know I love this cover Shay. and what a great video you've made! the first pic is the cutest Björn will ever look!:)

  • Thats is a cute one Elin, I never get tired of listening to this cover either

  • Very nicely done Shay! I haven't heard anyone do this song before, it came out very cool:)

  • The lyrics come across very well here Agnetha I think Thanks

  • You know what was nice with this version, is you can actually 'hear' the lyrics in this song the way it was slowed down. I really liked it that way for a change. You keep amazing me on your slide show presentation's with so many new/rare pictures! Very nice Shay!

  • I like this arrangement alot Dallas,I have to do something now that you guys are getting all 'Arty' with yours hehe

  • I never heard of Camera Obscura, but I like this version very much! I'm glad they didn't make a happy cover of it, like many covers of Super Trouper are. Nice!!

  • I agree with you Susie, alot of ABBA covers go for the happy-clappy sound when a more meloncholy aproach would be better

  • I like this one :D

  • Its a pretty cool version Ray, Good to see you back, Just put up some U2 at Red Rocks with good audio

  • Interesting version! This voice is very beautiful althought it sounds melancolic i think.

Thanks for showing other rare pics Shy! and for this musical discovery :)

  • It has a certain 'Je ne sais quos' M,

I found a few new ones and put em up

  • A raw pure rendition-like it very much-the pictures add to the pleasure

Thanks as usual Shay-Ireland surely is a magical kingdom!

    kind regards Bill

  • Cheers Bill,They capture the spirit of the song nicely I think, by this band from Glasgow

  • That was different Shay and enjoyable for a change great pick again.

    Jim

  • Thanks Jim

Sorry for the late reply, something a little unusual
