Actually Mike put a lot more notes in than JPJ. Jones put a real simple 3 note one liner. VH always had mike turned down in live concerts so all you could hear is Eddie.

But Led Zep/Page were awesome...so is Van Halen and Eddie...Page has more classic riffs in his arsenal than anybody, but never shit on Eddie...He changed the world of guitar like Hendrix did. Eddie and Page are both awesome song writers who came from different era's. If you wanna compare them in a shredding way, then Eddie blows Page away in that sense. But why shit on either of them? They both made my world a better place :)

Jimmy page was the second best if not the best guitarist of all time. Eddie Van Halen was great but dont compare him to Page. Besides they have very different playing styles. my first concert was the 84 tour, then the scorpions, then this one in chicago. the stage show was certainly less, but the show was great. they were having fun, which i don't think they did during the 84 tour obviously. the music was great. roth and hagar are very different in styles and this showed.
