I always get the chills around the last repeat of "The coldest blood runs through my vein, you know my name..." while Daniel Craig's Bond starts advancing towards the screen. Such a powerful imagery mixed with sound.

I can't express enough how much I love this movie. Best use of the gunbarrel. Best intro graphics (I count 12 people died in the graphics). All of this ties together. I didn't get the song at first, until I watched it again, and realized, Holy shit, this is a violent movie. 2:43, best use of 007.

Throughout the first 45 years of Bond, the gunbarrel sequence seemed unrelated, with no connection to the actual character. This fills in a gap that was missing since the very first gunbarrel in the early 1960s..

@kmg4 Actually, the douche he killed in the bathroom was the guy on the office's mercenary sent to kill Bond. Bond kills the henchman first. Bond gets his 00 status for killing the boss, but the bathroom scene represents how Bond killed the henchman and gives birth to the gunbarrel concept.

It sounds like a paradox, but you'll understand.

Despite my love of the old films, and rarely ever watching any of the 90's films, this is amazing! I love the song, I think this film suited Craig. Hopefully he can class it up for Skyfall though, I miss the sophistication of the early Bonds. And I think some dry wittiscm is needed too! BOND <3

Casino Royale was my favorite Bond novel. Unfortunately, three things ruined the movie for me: 1) Judi Dench as 'M', 2) Jeffery Wright as Felix Leiter, 3) Texas Hold 'Em instead of Baccarat in the casino scene. But there were three things that saved the movie: 1) Daniel Craig as Bond, 2) Eva Green as Vesper, 3) This main title sequence. So my feelings about this movie are ambivalent at best.

@GreenArrowHood There's also an interpretation of the gunbarrel appearing at the end of Quantum: that he's officially 007 because he completed the mysterious assignment surrounding Vesper's death at the end of Casino. Take it for what you will, I guess.

@GreenArrowHood Thank you! People forget that Daniel Craig's Bond is a reboot of the entire franchise. They started over with Fleming's first novel and with a fresh Bond to take the films in a newer direction. This one was perfect.
