I 100% agree. I believe the solo is Scott's its too melodic to be Gary (not that he could not create wonderful melodies in his solos) nobody plays as beautifully as Scott...his phrasing is is always full of emotion and never for the sake of flash.
Almost 90% certain it's Scott Gorham. The tone, vibrato, and rythmic phrasing are his, as are the pick slides the end of the solo. Originally, I thought it was Gary, too.
This the B side to the "Do Anything You Want To" single - 1979. Brilliant song, but missing from all the compilations. I still have the 7" single, transferred to tape, then digitised 30 years later!!
Why doesn't someone clean up all of these demos and put together an album. Give Phil's share to his mum or or charity, but it is a pity that this stuff is not more widely available.
This song isn't a demo. It's actually a b-side, and it's on the box set that was released back in 2002.
I agree with your point though. There's a ton of material (some of which I don't even have) that could make tons of great releases. I bet there is about 5-6 discs worth of demo material alone out there, and there's tons of live boots of great quality that would also make good releases.
I agree! I bought the 1979 single - and still have it! Such a great song - better than the A side I reckon! I played both sides until the record was nearly worn out! How I miss those days, spotty kid, not a care in the world and such great bands around
Pure magic! .. Long live Lizzy!

Sounds like that red strat with humbuckers Scott used to play in 79/80. A throw away from the Black Rose sessions but a great song.
