@sszhao11 Well, unfortunately for you, smaller cars are safer than "full size" cars. But you can still pay more for gas and be unsafe in the same time, masochism is a choice too :)
They should test crash every single one they produce and spare the consumer the ignorance and eventual embarrassment of owning one. Tomorrow, it will be published as one of the most ugly and unreliable cars to own. Your resale value will be nothing.
anyone with doubt about this cars safety, as long as you're not going too fast. it seems safe enough to me. having survived a head on crash with a heavy van at around 40-50mph. having seen this its definately helped me understand what i've been through.
actually, its smart thee way the airbag penetrates the window (im pretty sure that they did that on purpose) that way the glass doesnt stab the passengers.
Still the problem with small car is in a frontal crash. Even if these image show that the fiat is strong you can see that the way it deform is not safe. The legs can be exposed like the smart for two and the head can hit the side windows. Lack of side air bags in a frontal crash. I like this car I will probably buy it but still i'm unsatisfied with the security. I wouldn't feel safe in this car...
@PPWarrior sir, or madam. i was in a crash in one of these vehicles in a much larger van, both myself and my girlfriend are still alive with minor injuries. had it not been for the amount of safety that went into this car i'm not sure i'd recoment it as highly as i would.
@bobzzz23 well, while I still was a noob about airbags (i'm not saying that you are) i thought that way, but after seeing some documentaries on Discovery Channel and videos About Volvo (safety pioneers) on the internet, size does not always matter... well in a car like this yes it's good, but the most important is how the airbag will "soft" the impact of the driver and how fast will the air come out through holes to prevent explosion... I guess the right answer between both of us is 50%-50%

@RoyAndrew911 It wasn't the airbag that broke the windshield. Evidence at #t=27s clearly shows the passenger side airbag cover blew open at a tremendous force which struck the windshield and shattered it. CASE SOLVED
I don't think I'd carry any children in this car. They look like it's worse than for the drivers...or am I just reading it wrong? Anyway, I like the airbags at the window. Pretty neat.
This guy should lose his licence. No matter what crash test you watch he's always driving. Who would pass a guy with no hands or eyes?

I'm more than happy to pay $1000 more in gas per year to drive a full size car for safety.

Probably the airbags break the front window on purpose, so that it can't deflect on its weight and fall inside the cab stabbing everyone

OMG, the front airbag actually breaks the windshield before the impact. I wonder if that's done on purpose to divert the windshield gas elsewhere?
