I came back to ask if you ever did drugs intravenously? I never did, I am too scared to shoot up. I am 43, and Suboxone has saved my life, AND my liver, hahaha! I always took my pills by mouth. The amount of morphine and hydro I was using was starting to scare me. I DO have legitmate reasons to need pain killers, but I started abusing them. To get the high. Taking more and more. It also goes against my beliefs, as I'm a Buddhist. Opiates ARE a monster, like you say! Bless you! Thanks.

Not a miracle drug. Im on day 3 - after tapping down to 0.30(!!) mg of buprenophine. Still suffered the typical withdrawel symphtons - jumpy legs - weak, can not eat, exhausted but cannot sleep. The upside is that it is *manageable* compared to going cold turkey after for example a methadone addiction- which is impossible unless someone locks you up for 14 days.
this is a great video you do NOT get high from subutex (unless you just started using opiates). im allergic to suboxone so im on subutex and it has what they call a "CAP" on it so 3 to 4 pills is the most you can take if you took more to TRY to get high it wont do anything for some it works and for some people it dont im one tht it it works for. but for all the people still standing out in the cold for your next hit i pray for you all and god bless you cuz i was in that situationfor 12yrs
NO NO NO NO-avoid subutex. Its a horrible drug-you get addicted quickly and its very hard to get off-NOT A MIRRACLE PILL. Similar to Meth. Chronic constipation, headaches, poor sleep side effects go on and on....youll love it to start off with and think its a mirracle, then it turns on you. You stay on it for years, try to get off but cant. The docs will just keep prescribing it to you-they WANT you on it for life. Its hell-please avoid or mail me to ask about it first

It is true what he says, subutex is a partial agonist. Methodone is a full blown agonist. Like anything if you abuse it, it has it's troubles but suboxone is much much less to be addictive than methodone any day.

Good for you, no one else knows if you should or shouldn't be on buprenorphine. I don't mean to sound bitter, but screw them. I'd rather not be slamming H and on bupe. It's definately addictive, but a lot easier to get off than other opiates. You don't get high on it, you feel normal, it's great, but definately not a cure all either, you do the work yourself in the end. -good luck!..wait you don't need it, stay strong. :)
@TAXavier Its not easier to get off than H-probably much harder to be honest in my experioence. it takes so long to leave the body-3 days of feeling crap before you even start to feel really crap!!!! At least H is intense and quick. I guess its a case of whats easier for you-5 days of hell, or 25 days of feeling shitty. Id take the 5 days-mentally subutex is much harder to stick with. But I understand everyones different. Subutex works well if its a quick stay-20days then get off.
Im 15 months clean thanks to methadone. It saved my life. As for the "switching one addiction for the other" deal, that's crap. Im not addicted to Methadone, just like your not addicted to Suboxone. I might be dependent on it, but I'm not addicted. There is a difference. Your dependent on Oxygen too, you wouldn't say your addicted to that.
subutex saved my life. use it dont abuse it, if you taper off slow and steady you will not get withdrawals when coming off, go down to 0.4 or 0.2mg and you will be fine.

If youve been using and you decide to quit...which one is better to start on for day #1 of detox, Subutex or Suboxone? When I have the option of choosing, I wanna make the right choice..I know you have to have all opiates out of your system before you take either, but can you take Subutex earlier b/c of the no naloxone in it ? Im going to try to wait a full 24hrs (even though I know Ill probably only make it to 18). Thanks

I've been on subutex for about three years. I've did the methodone before that and I still acted like a damn junkie. I am now on 2 miligrams of subutex now and have had more control over my life than ever before. I have a good life now and plan on being off of the 2 miligrams in less than a year. It truly is a miracle of SCIENCE and can change anyones life that gives it a chance. It does cost, but not like the cosy your were paying when being a junkie.

thats BULLSHIT dude. if you were just on hydrocodone or tramadol or something rather weak like that, you might be able to go cold turkey, but i was doing dilaudid, opana, fentanyl, and mounds of oxycontin... you can't gbo cold turkey off that shit even if you have only been using for half a year, and i used for about 3. i go to the methadone clinic now and i'm detoxing at the moment on 50 mgs. can't wait to get my life back, but i'm always gonna have a soft spot in my heart for opiates ;)

No one should have to suffer. Subutex/Suboxone is $303.00 for 30 sublingual tablets with out insurance, and $150.00 for the Doctor visit. It saddens me to see people that want to function and live a normal life, but they can't afford it.
