The deal looks good. A tip that really helped me with my finger flash is to hold the fingers lower on the deck, as if you were holding half a deck.
Sometimes I will curl the third finger so that the tip of it is pressing against the bottom card, almost like for a push out deal (I use a strike though). This greatly reduces it, but the grip looks a bit more awkward.
I'm sure you already know of this one, but you can also try holding the fingers flatter.
@denkste144 Oh, that's too bad. I stopped practicing it for a while too.
As far as real games go it is getting more and more limited in application. I pretty much only practice it with about 3/4 of a deck or less now. It's a good move for Omaha but for hold 'em you kind of need to do it with a full deck.
Pretty frustrating move... Everytime I try to correct something with it I end up messing something else up.
Nice bottom deal man , its funny cos I actually use the same grip as you I actually find your bottom deal really alike mine and I also have the same problem with the mechanics grip ! Keep it up man !
Looks good for me. The way I learned bottom is I'm adding this neck tie movement, so its not too expose mostly when you have a player on your left. And I'm also trying to sail all cards in a consistent pattern mostly when I'm getting the card at the bottom.
@kingarthurlove Hey man thanks alot for sharing your experience :)
when I practised dealing bottoms to different "seats" (like to the third player), I kept doing this wrist turn and so it looked really obvious because you could tell that I just dealt a bottom because of the wrist turn ( hope that just made sense :D )
so I guess thats why I stopped doing it
but its definitely something I could start to experiement again, so thanks alot for mentioning :)
I think the deal looks great, my only critique is that you place the deck into position for the deal, if your using this for magic and your pattering try squaring the deck on the table with one hand when you pick it up, in that action its very easy to get into the right position for the deal. The erdnase grip looks very natural in your hands but anyone whos doing it feels it looks strange in their own hands even though it doesnt.
This actually looks very good man. My only critique is that you need to go right from the shuffle/cut to the deal. dont take time to reposition the deck in your hand. work on picking up and dealing.
Are you doing the erdnase deal or is it a variation using erdnase grip?
The ring finger extends out a bit (finger flash). work on that and keep a steady rhythm and pace. A lot of people who bottom deal hesitate that they arent going to do it well so their rhythm and flow is thrown off. Think that you are going to do the best bottoms ever and you will start to see that it will build up (rhythm and flow). Keep it up!
@BCardician lol, nah I just think the erdnase grip doesn't look right in my hands, but sadly its the only grip that works for me and the rythm doesn't look natural either
i hope u use Bicycle .tally ho like this kind deck because got white border
ur camera angle also hide ur skill ,if we can see it clearly ,i think we can get u more feedback and suggestion

looks ok. as a practice tip is good to sail all the cards, including the bottoms.

It looks good; I am also working on my bottoms =)
But the way I do it is to turn my wrist down when you deal the cards, so that people cannot see you deal the card from the bottom.
In "Fast Company", the person said that it is better to turn your wrist down so that the card is above the deck when it takes out from bottom.
Oh well, Idk --- thsi is what I learn about bottom and so just share with you =)

@denkste144 OHHH, I get what you mean~
I also noticed that problem too, and so I DO MY WRIST TURN to any seat --- to make each "deal" looks identical.
O well, I know that it will make it SOOO different of my second deals and top deal.
But then, I just care not to flash my bottom deal first.
If I really need to makes the usage of my second deal and bottom deal in the future,
then I will try to find other ways to get around the "dealing" motion =\

UnknownMagician93 1 year ago
@UnknownMagician93 yeah that huge delay and grip adjustment is one of my biggest problems along with the rythm
its a variation on the erdnase grip
I hate it actually, but the master grip or the mechanics grip don't work for me as the deck always keeps sliding out of my hand
thanks for the feedback

@denkste144 I think I have something you will like;) pm me.

Damn nice.
Love the slow motion from 0:08, its so surreal !
is that a plugin ? Or is it just the time remapping ?

I think it is pretty smooth. But maybe you could shorten the break after each round of dealing to make it a bit more fluent.
