  • i'm going to do this for thanksgiving in a week! i'm going to use porcini mushroom instead of truffle. i'm pretty sure the store won't have the truffle, and who can afford that anyways?

  • @youllregretit I tried this recepe last Thanksgiving but just used Truffle oil instead. Much cheaper and still gives you an amazing flavor.

  • @youllregretit There's really no alternative mushroom to truffle, I'm using truffle oil...

  • @youllregretit Just use truffle oil instead, it's cheaper and just one drop is very potent.

  • Looks Delicious ! Done .

  • @kahoko04 twat

  • @CraigWeir1986

    Weiner

  • Difference between MPW and Gordon, look at Marco's ''chicken broth'' video....hes talking about people not being able to afford freerange chicken , and Ramsay thinks nothing of saying ''it costs 50quid'' as if people can go and buy truffle. ........ As a silly commis, I was obsessed with Ramsay, Now......its like hmmm.

  • I'm so hungry

  • How I wish he was my dad

  • omg that looks amazing..

  • Truffle butter? I love Gordon but how many of us can afford this product? It Costs more than my rent. Why not a brine or a compound butter? Don't just cater to the super rich.

  • @grrant54 If you can't buy or find actual truffle, just use truffle oil. It's far cheaper and has the truffle flavor. Won't be as up-front as actual truffle, but some people may prefer that. The oil tastes a lot more subtle.

  • I thought he visited Turkey! lol

  • Watch. Shop. Attempt. Fail. Sad. Phone. Pizza. Eat.

  • @engaurd but value doesn't mean taste.

  • And here I was thinking I would be able to cook this on a budget ... and then WHAM he throws in the truffles.

  • that size of truffle is 50quid/pounds????!!!! :O OOOOOOH WOOOOW!!! :O

  • Sorry Gordon but that turkey looks dry as a nun's...well.......

  • @TheHockeyCentral Just so you know: the skin of a cooked turkey (or any other bird) is *supposed* to look crispy.

  • @Nabiki73 I didn't mention the skin. I said it looks dry when he cut it.

  • @TheHockeyCentral

    haaha

    I agree

    that looks dry rofl.

  • @TheHockeyCentral yup thats why he gets michelin stars,,, from cooking dry turkey...

  • @dsrevo79 Are you fucking stupid?!?!? I said the turkey THERE looks dry!!!! I never said Ramsay was a shit chef or that he couldn't cook a turkey or that he doesn't deserve 3 stars.

All I said was that the turkey in this video looks DRY. Fucking READ my actual comment, you dumbass piece of elephant shit.

  • @TheHockeyCentral MORON FUCK IDIOT U!!!! ALL I SAID IS YOU ARE AN IDIOT...DAMN FUCK...... LOOKS DRY EH... YAH...LOOK DRY MY ASS...DAMN FUCK

  • @dsrevo79 If that doesn't look dry to you than that's fine. To me that's dry ass turkey. He cuts it and there's not one ounce of juice. Calm down. Go to the drugstore. Pop some downers and chilllllllllll.

  • @TheHockeyCentral chill? did u look at your response to my original post up there? i just copied u..... lol

  • @fodeeka

    Season 1, episode 9.

  • @siim258 I'm sorry didn't mean to vote down.. I wasn't looking and accidentally pressed the button..

  • @ Libby56 no such thing as true foodie...

the way you like it....its the best way to have it....in my opinion..

everyone likes different tastes...cant judge cuz someone doesnt like what you like...

  • If I wanted to try this, could I replace the truffle with something else more available or should I just skip it?

  • @siim258 just skip it

  • i would do anything to be that bird

  • Making this tomorrow!!!! AHHHHH! I cannot wait!

  • wtf is this guy. born genius? or what?

  • This doesn't look good at all. LOOKS GREAT

  • @MARVELAG Great wall turkeys.

  • how much did he say it costs?

  • @angeluspride 50 for that little bit...

  • Turkey with truffle butter and citrus breadcrumbs. People who don´t eat pork can order that dish in restaurant.......only to find bits of pancetta in it. I bet that this dish is not on the menu in his restaurant in Dubai.

  • Yea a lot of butter was used but that was one big turkey same for the bread crumbs there was a lot of butter but the finished plate just had a small amount of bread crumbs. I thinking hes more about portion size.

  • whats the expensive little black thing call?

  • Truffle

  • how come he puts so much butter in the pan?

  • because he's been French-trained

  • but he uses so much butter in almost all his recipes, i thought butter is bad for your heart and artieries?

  • It is bad for you. It also tastes really really good. He wants the food to taste really really good. You go to any place with good food and I guarantee they use a lot of REAL butter.

  • hmm

but the thing is, if i wanted to make these recipes at home and i were to eat each meal with this amount of butter, i would die so fast

  • Well, what he's making is decadent food, you're not supposed to eat food like that all the time.

Also, do realize that whenever you use stuff like Margarine and other butter substitutes, you're not actually doing much because the process of making those fats solid actually does a lot to remove their health benefits, and in some ways, they become worse than butter. And the flavor of butter is 100% superior. It adds such a nutty richness. Try using a little less butter, it will still taste good.

  • and Alba truffles are white. the best of all kind.normally you'd heard black truffle and white truffle. the black one we call it french truffle and white one we call it italian truffle. white truffle once sold for £64000/1.2kg.)

almost forgot.. truffle are wild fungus which grow in the ground. (very rare)

and to eat the truffle, just slice it over risotto and you get yourself one of the best dish you can every imagine.

  • you coulda just said: MUSHROOM

  • She could've but didn't because shes not a dumbass and she knows the difference

  • and write an essay about truffles that some 14 yr old kid could care less about....

  • Newsflash idiot. Somebody asked so somebody obviously wants to know. Some people like to learn.Try it one day.

  • look buddy you can chirp me all you want, but your just showing your own ignorance. I know what truffles are, and dont stop learning.

let me go lick my wounds after you called me an idiot. ouch.

  • @Waltank yes, but that wouldn't be precise. it's like not saying "turkey" but merely calling it "bird." Or instead of using the proper name, thyme, it's like calling saying "plant leaves."

  • truffle is probably one of the most exciting and expensive food ingredients in the world. its hard to find (only trained dogs and pigs could find it) and only avaliable from september to december.

the taste of truffle, to me is quite earthy.. in a amazing way though. of course to some people, especially who taste them 4 the 1st time, they think it smells.

if you have chance you should try truffles from Alba Pompeia, expensive, but worth every penny. especially when you are a true foodie.

  • Actually for the number of people the turkey could feed (8-10), it's actually quite reasonable. But yeah, truffle oil is great because it works two fold in raising the smoke point of the butter and flavor.

Plus the whole fact finding a truffle that size is near impossible because the high class restaurants usually get first dibs on it.

  • in europe u can easily find black truffle like that. its expensive but not that "expensive". truffle oil on the other hand, not good.. we don't like by product because its just not the right flavour.. especially when its comes to truffle. its quite hard to reserve the flavour of truffle. we make truffle oil at home and to be honest it lose its flavour very soon if you don't use it quick.

  • he had me at panceta and onions...but the truffles??? never thought of that an turkey. plus that would be just rediculously expensive for a turkey meal

  • you could try truffle oil-- it works just as good. Truffles are ridiculously expensive, as u said, so truffle oil works, and is cheaper.
