  • They should of remade this for the dreamcast. Fix some of the little quirks, expanded the size of levels, added more levels and more gameplay. I think it would of have been a hit. Perhaps since not many got to play the original it wasnt a well known game.

  • Strangely enough this one of the few games where theres no in game music but you dont really need or notice it.

  • This game looks like a dry run for ideas ST would be using in Phantasy Star Online a couple of years down the line. Too bad you couldn't fly in the latter game...

  • one of the best games on the Saturn had to buy a imported saturn and 60hz tv just to play it back in the day :)

  • i always thought the guy at 0:00 was hot---lookin at him now, my opinion hasn't changed lol

  • Due to the higher amount of ram on the saturn, I would consider the saturn to be the best 2D console of that generation

  • ¿spiel feuerwehrmann???

  • this game looks pretty badass, I would have liked to play this game

  • @fngrscr8dstroui yes i l know that. i have the game.

  • Wait... is that a really old version of real time lighting? :O

  • Whether or not the Sega Saturn was more technically powerful than the Playstation 1 is difficult to determine due to the complexity of Sega's hardware. That said, this is without doubt one of the best looking 3D games on the Saturn. The Saturn did however have more RAM than the PS1 and as a result 2D games like Marvel Super Heroes VS Capcom looked far better on the Saturn.

  • 50 Japan's Heroes!!!!!

  • 2011, burning, japan!?!?!?!?

  • to me, this screams super sentai oddly?

  • I'm impressed by how much dialogue there is for this game. Looks pretty fun too. Reminds me a LOT of Megaman Legends on PSX.

  • Japanese Buzz Lightyear is a great fire fighter.

  • I had this game back in the day. It was more fun to play than it is to watch. In fact, it was a lot of fun to play.

    ...in my opinion

    Thanks for the upload!

  • The NiGHTS engine. If only Yuji Naka had handed it over before, we would've had Sonic X-Treme, and the Saturn would have lived.

  • @SonRolo But Sonic Team made this game. The same people that made NiGHTS

  • @JoostRevo yes, but the people that were making sonic x-treme requested to use this engine because of time constraints. Yuji Naka, creator of NiGHTS said to sega something along the lines of "if you give them the engine i quit". So they got no NiGHTS engine and obviously didn't have time to come up with anything of their own. thanks to his dick move we have no sonic xtreme and saturn died a quick death.

  • Looks quite boring a game...

  • @Karakta holding down the firelevel or escaping outbrakes made my heart go boom many times. the endbosses have been cool and weird . its more fun to play I guess.

  • Sega Saturn-my favourite video platforme...

  • this game looks better than Metal Gear Solid for psx, the textures and the whole engine are amazing

  • God, I miss Sonic Team. Back in the day, they just couldn't make a game that was anything less than nearly flawless. Now all they do is make terrible Sonic sequels.

  • This game was too ahead of it's time. It really needed dual analogues to play properly. Even so, it's still one of the best games on the Saturn.

  • Never got round to playing this game, I wish I did. hopefully they will release it for XBLA or PSN.

  • One of the last great Saturn games.

  • Games like this made it an easy decision to go with Saturn as opposed to the N64!@

  • This shit looks so corny.... xD

  • Sho's voice sounds awfully familiar.

  • XBLA/PSN or Next Gen Release would be devine or Wii???

    This game was PURE MAGIC!

  • They did not want to name it flaming rangers so people will think its gay. LOL

  • SPOCIOUS...

     gh

  • SPOCIOUS...

     gh

  • So they're like futuristic fire fighters?

  • @ebiljoey

    Pretty much.

  • @ebiljoey HELL YA!!

  • @ebiljoey HELL YA!! AND IT KICKED ASS!!

  • classic game.

  • Could you imagine a sequel on ps3 with all kinds of crazy levels and fire physics.

  • @zenbyo It just wouldn't be the same

  • Comment removed

  • Screw you!

  • Such good voice acting for such an old game

  • なつかしー!面白いゲームだったよ!

  • Guess it is the japanese version. Just wanna know if it is possible to turn english voice or subtitles on in this japanese version?

  • its games like this that put the psx to shame, too bad a lot of game makers found the saturn's code too hard to work with.

  • @JIMBO8472 some game magazines gave it bad ratings like 20 percent !!!! I really loved playing it, so crazy how the levels evolved, and the easter eggs were nice . )

  • @JIMBO8472 this doesnt put the ps1 to shame, let alone the psx, or do you even know what a psx is.

  • @Sepultallica86 PSX was the code for the original "phat" PlayStation console as well as being a high end PS2/PVR.

  • @JIMBO8472 The PSX will NEVER be put to shame by the Sega Saturn. Not only did Sega throw away a PSX in some of their Saturn commercials, but they also failed at making the console good enough to last long enough compared to the PSX which got released one year before. I will acknowledge the DC however.

Honestly both the Crash Bandicoot and Spyro the dragon triologies plays and look better than this game. Those games even had facial expressions during every cutscene, more lifelike.

  • @Scourgeandmephiles93 the PSX had NO arcade conversions from CAPCOM like the saturn did. x-men cota, x-men vs. street fighter, marvel super heroes vs. street fighter, street fighter zero 3, and of course the almighty radiant silvergun. 2D was something PSX could not do.

  • @AlirazaVideoGames That is so untrue in every aspect. Ever heard of Rayman or Mickey's wild adventure? Those games are advanced 2D games. The PSX was good at handling both while the Saturn was meant as a 2D console. The Saturn had too much pop up in 3D.

  • @AlirazaVideoGames In favor to my last comment I wanna point out that this game has good 3D compared to what the Saturn was capable of. The reason why there's so much turning is that developers try to overshadow the pop ups on screen.

  • @AlirazaVideoGames

This is true. Sega consoles have always been about bringing arcade quality experiences to home and the Saturn was no exception. Like with the Genesis before it and the Dreamcast after it we saw many great arcade conversions brought to our living rooms and the reason why I still play and will continue to play games on Sega consoles is because they're the only consoles that have games with a true arcade feel.

  • @KevinBusomjack Exhibit A: Dreamcast

  • @Scourgeandmephiles93 psx didnt get released one year before saturn. saturn launched in may 95,and psx got released september 95. theres only 4 months difference, lol.

  • Whose the guy who said the Saturn can't do Alpha Blending so I can kick him in the balls and strangle him with his Playstation controller cable.

  • haha very well said sir.

  • lmao

  • This game...reminds me ALOT like the old SNES game, Ignition Factor. Except this one seems to have less strategy.

  • Think if they made an online version of this... *Drooool*

    or... portable....

Dream....Dream.... Why won't you come true?

  • Holy crap, I just had this ordered and after watching this video I'm so excited for Xmas to come!

  • The levels are randomly created as well... infinite replayability! This is on the top list of sega games i would love to see remade.

  • I had no idea that the Saturn could put out 3D of this quality. Maybe if Sega hadn't killed their reputation with the 32x and completely botched up the Saturn's US release, the system could have been a serious contender against the PSX and N64.

  • sounds like star fox sound effect.

  • not sure why that gave you 3 thumbs down, as it actaully really does sound like star fox 64 (or Lylat wars if you're in Europe).

  • i saw this somewhere in phantasy star universe before...oh yeah! i have the poster of it! this game roks!

  • You have not even played it.

  • you can get it for 50$ on ebay asshole. and bragging isnt getting you much of shit now is it?

  • It's what you get for advertising shit on YouTube, nobody gives a damn, go away.

  • ...That made no sense. For by the very means that you reply to my comment, means you read mine. So now you're a fag. And yes, I do have a lot of time on my hands. Wanna know why? Because I don't have to work. And why do I not have to work? Because I'm alot more economically intelligent than to have my source of income be selling retro games on YOUTUBE.

    /win

  • Just...die, please. For the dear love of everything pure, stop, breathing.

  • i have this game i still play it great for its time.

  • I really want to add this game to my small Saturn collection, but the game is too damn expensive.

  • A game centred around putting out fires?

  • I have to get this game back, segata sanshiro i won´t let you down

  • apperantly theres no music?

  • one of the best saturn games

  • I had this game, it was classic! pushed the saturn to the limits and certainly stood graphically on top of any ps1 game, especially the art design. While not pushing near the same amount of polygons as a top of the league n64 game such as jet force gemini this came damn close!

  • This game is fucking cool and its graphics are better than anything of the original Playstation (Seriously)

    You are skilled pal

    (Sonic Team forever, you rules)

  • *you rule

What a bad english I have

  • Wow, some really emotive voice acting! :) Is this the English version? I'm confused coz the writings in english but the speech is in Japanese (without subs)...

  • You'd be surprised how many games that are released in Japan are like that. It could be in the English version with Japanese voice acting turned on and subtitles off, or Japanese with English text. Guess will never know... Unless alpha2006br tells us.

  • The Japanese voice acting is pretty convincing.

Very good quality for just a video game.

  • man, this game rocks

  • that was a good epoque to sonic team

  • dam! what year did this come out? these are some pretty good graphics 4 saturn!

  • July 1998

  • it came out 10 years ago

  • they need to remake this so more people can play the game.

    Great game

  • Thanks for posting this, classic!
