  • I am now 61 years old and the key to understanding me is to understand that some part of me is still 13 years old and in love with Smokey! This still is my FAVORITE of all time song and singer. They just don't make them like this any more.

    Once, in my 30's, I took a friend to a live "Smokey" concert. She really had never heard of him. But she took one look at him, smiled wisely and said, "You can tell he knew his Momma loved HIM!"

    That is his charm. He knows he is LOVE and is LOVED!

  • I just love this song! Everything about it, the lyrics, the guitar opening, the whole thing! It is magnificent and like someone said previously - Smokey is so handsome in this video! It's a true classic and nothing can or will come close to touching it EVER

  • "People say i'm the life of the party cause i tell a joke or two. .. although i might be laughing loud and hearty, deep inside I'm blue".... ......I LOVE IT!!!! The songs from back then had so much originality and it was so creative. It's not like the music of today...These were real artists that sang from the heart and it meant something. This music is timeless.
