@MikeHudson65 Yes, the original lyric is everybody's somebody's play-thing, but I have a feeling that some people believe it or not felt the phrase was too provocative for some. I've heard some singers say "baby" when, in the original Connie Francis hit record she clearly says play-thing. I feel the original wording means, it's not right to treat someone like a "play thing", everyone deserves to be treated with respect. At least, that's the way I personally have always interpreted it.

I do like Connie's live performance of this song better than her million selling version. She was Loretta's Lynn's husbands favorite singer. I also like Loretta as far as country music goes.
