Taylor was blackballed for not complying with TPTB...no radio time, no plugging his CD on AI, lots of negative press; but Taylor has survived musically and is doing well with Grease and performing regularly in smaller venues around the country. He puts on a great show and he is one classy guy.

The only reason that Taylor won, at least for me, is when Chris Daughtry got voted off, all you had left was Elliott, Kat, and Taylor, then Elliott got voted off, and I just really couldn't stand Katherine, so I voted for Taylor, as did a lot of people, I'm sure.

I agree with you here. After Chris was voted off, [which is still quite shocking, although he's doing just fine without winning Idol].

Katherine had some great moments, but her performances bored me a bit. I wasn't a Taylor fan by a long shot, but I expected him to win when it came down to him and Kat.

If you watch any of the other finale's in americna idol history you can see this was the weakest winner's performance. That key change at the end really threw him for a loop that note he hit was horriblly off pitch. I didn't enjoy that at all. Even if Fantasia is one of the weaker winners she blows this guy out of the water. We'll see how the David's do this Tuesday.

I'm kinda glad he won. The Idol contract seems to constrict the artist too much, so Katharine was able to get her own deal and became successful. Look what happened to Hicks - he got dropped by the contract after his album sold horribly.

Katherine was owned by Arista too. And her Album did horribly. She didn't even get half of what Taylor's sold. She was dropped just like he was after disappointing sales. She's hardly successful. But there's no doubt in the future she will be with 2 movies coming out soon, among other things.
