This was in York during the blizzard of 1993. This is an example of authentic, "from the heart," "from the gut" barbershopping that truly embodies the hobby. The great man and his son along with two other like-minded (and awesome) folks sharing a song, a laugh, and a moment in time. Those of us who were there will never forget this gem. Thanks so much for posting this; any footage we can all have of Freddie is priceless. That man had such on impact on so many... I am welling-up as I type...
If you look up "The Entertainers" quartet, I posted a couple of songs from them. Freddie sang baritone with them. It is a couple of funny "Freddie-like" routines they do with Last Night Was The End of the World and Heart of My Heart.
So, please tell me you have more Freddie King videos... dear sweet Jesus! this is LITERALLY the only video on the Internet that I have been able to find.
He loved to sing and knowing him meant he made it impossible for you not to love singing. I laughed with him sang with him and learned soooo much from him. I will miss him!
Rest In Peace Freddie...I loved seeing you perform and will miss your wonderful voice and sense of humor. I know you're singing in heaven with pop pop and Grandpa Keith making beautiful music and telling stories as only you guys could.
I like seeing spontaneous, non-competitive performances. Anything from afterglows or mic testing sets is always good. I was just wondering if you have any more videos with performances like this...?
Got ya! I might be posting show stuff from quartets in the future that you might find interesting. Thanks for the interest. I'll check on those requests for you!
What do you mean by "this"? There are other M-AD quartet stuff I have posted. Let me know specifically what you mean and I'll let you know if I have it.

Takes me back to those years with Dundalk Chorus and Fred, not to mention teaching with him at Parkville Jr. High. He is irreplaceable.

Gone a while now, but never forgotten. It was such a joy to work with Freddie...

I never met Freddie in person, but my dad came home from conventions with hilarious stories of Freddie and his "trick teeth" all the time.

There was a blizzard that kept the planned mic testing quartet from appearing. That is why this happened. Great "eye play" between the 4 of them.
