@hulkboy1234 It's basically exploring different sounds, listening to one phrase at a time on the original soundtrack to get the closest matches. At first it takes a while, but once you've saved a few setups, it gets much quicker and easier...

@DanGRtheMan You Mean where I go into the penguin theme? That was me sneaking in a key change so that the finale part would be easier for to play :p Yup, pure laziness on my part. I enjoy playing for fun, once it gets too hard I change keys. :p

@painlessissuicide Actually, I want to do the Nolan one. Again, I'm sorting out the pieces to put it together in *my* arrangement. Also, after much listening, there's no real drum beat to the Nolan one... so it'll be pure splits and layers, no accompaniment!

@din5ixfg I tried looking for the 'right' sheet music, never found it for the overall theme. So for about the 1st half, I did it note by note by ear on the opening theme of the 1989 Batman. But I didn't like the way it 'trailed off' the ending, so I threw in the animated theme, and Batman returns to make it end the way I wanted.

@inferno0202x Hmm... I couldn't find a score to work from, so it was all done by ear. I can tell you it was centred around the Bm scale initially, then slides to Am, Gm, F#m, Dm, back to Gm, A, then stays in Cm for the part I tacked onto the end (except for a brief dip to Bm). Hope that helps?

You can clearly hear the sound being chopped off when he's changing the preset, and that's a shame. For example: 0:56

Good playing although I heard a few mistakes, but yeah, it's filmed in one shot and it such a long song, so no problem with that.

@Keybern Yup; you can try to be careful to get rid of the abrupt sound of instrument changes (happens on any board that uses sampled sounds) but programming it completely out is a pain. But possible.

And yes,tThat was the whole point, 1 take (mistakes and all... I'm bummed about the mistakes, but I'll try again in the future). Sadly, "Pirates" and "Superman" had even more mistakes. D'oh. I also don't use backing midi -- there's no underlying song I'm playing on top of.

Not exactly preset; I created soundscapes that I change with the foot pedal, yes; the soundscapes comprise the backing style (also custom made), the voice setups for left & right hand (and sometimes a 3rd split), and they are setup into a queue of over 30 changes for this song.

And there's no score; I tried to find one and gave up (this is all by ear, listening to the 1989 Burton Batman opening theme, which I felt deserved a more epic ending, so I pasted on the Batman Returns theme crescendo
