distortion test fender mustang vs digitech grunge

I think we can get almost the same sound as the Digitech Grunge with the add of an equalizer to the Fender Mustang amp set with higher frequencies.

Thanks for the comparison ! Because I have the Fender Mustang II (40 watts) and was planning to buy the Digitech Grunge pedal to get that sound (more heavy metal than grunge). I'll try with my MXR EQ10 m-108 and see if I can get that Digitech Grunge sound with my amp too.

I think I will get the mustang 2, but I also considered the peavey vypyr 30. My pap tried the peavey and said it didn't sound very great, and said the mustang sounded better. Plus the mustang has fender fuse, so I think I will get it. But im going to guitar center to test them out!

the pedal seems really harsh, i prefer the mustang 1, its still chucky and tight but doesnt sound like its breaking up at all the louder intervals

Awesome video man, thanks so much for making it. I'm really interested in buying the Mustang 1 amp myself. Does it play Metallica type distortion really well? @2rude with the fuse software the sounds you can create are endless.....and its pretty simple to use once u get the hang of it....thanks for the compliment

The mustang amp doesnt seem to take your grunge pedal well, how does the grunge pedal sound to a tube amp compared to the mustang preset?

@boinkeee2000 not sure never heard it through all tube....i have a 5w tube amp i may compare it that way but i agree to me the mustang doesnt take pedals well at all...and when you mix effects from the amp with pedals to me it sounds even worse...the grunge pedal has to options 1 to run it straight through the amp and 1 to run it to a mixer..i had it set into the amp...but since it was running through the pc maybe i should have tried running it through the mixer out? i dunno it seems a bit harsh

Fender amp distortion is more solid to me... What amp model are you using and settings?? Great sound!

@zzseba its the metal 2000 preset in green but i used the fender fuse software to tweek it...if you go on fender fuse and look up the tool preset under the name sustain_the_silence and download it thats the preset im using....thanks for the comment!
