Well, we've got the 50th Anniversary of the band next year. I'm hoping Apple/EMI has something in store for us. The "Anthology" CDs, as nice as they were in the late '90s, are kinda old now. We need something new and we need more unreleased Beatles. (Pisses me off EMI didn't reissue the Anthology CDs in new cardboard digipaks like the rest of the remastered catalog. Oh they remastered them alright, FOR I-TUNES).
harrison played the chiming lead, lennon played the distorted lead. harrison would never allow anything that sloppy go on vinyl.Notice how all the sloppy crap was edited out and only a few solid riffs were left in.It was nice to hear the rough cut though.
This track has the drums sound so faintly. The drum fills were a real killer on this song but its very faint on this first half of this track. But its a more raw record and so was Paul's voice. But I guess or George might have missed a guitar note at 3:39.
on one hand, this is great. On the other, in the extended coda, even the Beatles can sound like a garage band. And I found interesting and instructive that George had worked out a lot of the fills and solo bits in advance. Of course, that is why he was so brilliant. He chose to play what was well thought out rather than winging it.
Dandeexxxx, I don't know who you are ragging on, me or sunriseRISE, but either way, why bother making an asinine, nasty comment? To quote Mr. Lennon, "Time wounds all heels." Which seems to me to apply to you in a singularly appropriate manner, and is my wish for people like you who have nothing useful to say. Jerk.
dandeee xxx boy why dont you bugger off. The observations by bensson are interesting. Unfortunately your delinquent tirade is boring and and tiring and should be dumped in the Mersey together with you, near the sewage outlet.
Ah, good ,you acknowledge my advise. As for your swearing just typical and predicatable garbage retort from someone who is tonguetied, and IQ negative. Is your mother proud of you? show her how you express yourself. Bye
George is all over Abbey Road and the last part is based on his Here comes the sun and Badge (with Clapton). The long ending sounds like it's based on Lennon's previously recorded I want you. Very good album.
No, Paul did not play the solos. George Harrison did (strat/gibson). Paul McCartney's drumming on his first album, "McCartney," is rather sloppy (as is the guitar playing, with the exception of his acoustic playing.
Hearing the song this way, with the extended coda, I would swear that is Paul playing drums. It sounds alot like the stuff he did on his first solo album, McCartney and just doesn't quite fit Ringo's style. Any thoughts?
I'm not sure why I'm even replying to you, but, must agree with Dubuisson. Or just sit here, with a stunned look, at the fact that, someone could think that Billy Joel influenced the Beatles. This song was released well before Billy Joel was even on the map. Do you live in a cave perhaps? The Beatles? Doesn't ring a bell? Hmmm?
well the main reason is because if anyone in the "threetles" didn't like a particular cut or song,it didn't wind up on there. that's why they never made a 3rd or possible 4th single. Harrison and McCartney even wrote an entirely new song that would've been a genuinely new beatles song, but it somehow wound up on the cutting room floor. very sad.
This song is so underated!!

the finished result is what it truly is about, but you cant achieve that without having utilized the "garage" that's where it all starts

You're kidding, right? Billy Joel influencing the Beatles? Check your basic chronology.
