After 12 years of gaming this is still not only my favorite Final Fantasy game, but also my favorite game of all time. It is simply because I share the same opinion as Sakaguchi himself; Final Fantasy 9 is the closest to what I think FF-games should be like. Final fantasy 9 was my first FF that i played and I was VERY into it..when I was in my classroom while my teacher is teaching..I would write down all the summon beast names..names of the magics..the character names..weapons..in the last page of my book..draw them..think of my strategies.. damn I miss that.. I was 9-10 years old back then..~ now I'm 18.. :)

Ah, I remember the first time I've finished this. I was so down, because I thought Zidane and Kuja were dead. Then the whole ending scene with the sad music playing, and when Dagger said something about "moving on", I was like "Yeah, but I won't! :(" Well, to be honest, Zidanes resurrection wsn't completely unexpected, but I still wa surprised and happy about it. That's how I survived and even LIKED the cheesyness of this ending scene :)

This game deserves a remake. I can imagine how cool it would look with the voice acting and such. But you know Square, it's most likely not gonna happen. It's been like 10 years. Can we at least get a FFIX-2 or something.
So beautiful that the play "I Want to Be Your Canary" was never finished at the beginning, but is completed in Garnet and Zidane's lives and comes to a beautiful ending like that.. :')
There was a version of this movie with "Nights in White Satin" as the overmusic that I used to watch for the last couple years. For some unknown reason the poster just recently took it down. Sad. This is really beutiful set to "Nights in White Satin."
Ok, so he wanted some credit for taking the time to put all this together....I get it. For blackblur, the guy who took the time, the battles for me were as important, especially his sliding back into the ifa tree. so yeah, include all of it. most of us REAL fans love to see that. and artards before, there are plenty of other videos of just the ending so smeg off.
FF9 and other Underrated FF games deserves a lot more praise than Overrated FF games like FF7, cuz those Overrated FF games has taken too much praise from the Underrated games.

The only reasons some people love FFVII more are the characters look and the amount of mini games. FFIX has great characters with more interesting backgrounds more explored, a good amount of mini games and fun, and a bigger and more beautiful environment with interesting origins, a more marvelous storyline, and greater battle system.

OK, my mate was 17 when he beat the game an nearly 7 foot high with muscles like dave batista...and he cried like a baby. its just so fuckin epic and beautiful.
It's too bad when SquareEnix merged their games seemed to go downhill. I mean, to each his own. If you like Kingdom Hearts good for you, but I don't see it as a Square game at all. I wish these big companies would go back to their roots and make awe-inspiring games. Instead, their just interested in one thing, money. So many spin-offs of games that don't need it. SquareEnix is very similar to Capcom in their ways of marketing strategy and I've grown to hate these companies that I once loved.
@blass87 I agree. It was a bad idea to merge disney charecters with ff fantasy charecters. I mean, for me, it's like trying to mix oil and vinigar. It's just doesn't mix.
@TrettaM I liked it because the way they made Mickey so epic and we got to see that not all Disney creations aren't all talk, there's violence that goes on like the stories they made them from. It brings kids movies up to where teenagers can relate and adults as well.

I love the game! I love the ending, it is perfect and so I will be the first to jump up and disagree with an FFIX sequel or remake if they ever decide to make one however, even though I am against I would like to see the future of the characters, did Red ever settle down, did the 'kids' of Vivi ever get to be powerful black mages like their father, did Beatrix and Stiner ever end up getting pregnant, is Eiko fitting into royal life well etc, it would be nice to see just that part of the idea.
I was crying at the end of this game. Watching this scene again brings me back to my childhood when I ran home from school, grabbed a snack, and spent the rest of the day playing FF. Not only is is fun and entertaining, but it teaches you a lesson, and is a heart-touching game. This game will always be a treasure, and will always be remembered. Well done SquareSoft.

I finished this game without summoning and using garnet only as a healer.. why you ask? because i dont know how to summon back then! HAHAHAHA.. only later did i realized that summons could be restored with items.

Just awesome. This whole scene has too much meaning. When Dagger lost her necklace (it's the garnet), it was like telling us she realized she wasn't Queen Garnet, even if she had to rule Alexandria, she was actually like Dagger. Living among all that royality had made her forget who she trully was. And of course, we can't forget all the romantic thing. This was really touching. The game also had an amazing plot. A totally masterpiece.
It is a infamous rumor that one has to possess the Hammer in order to see this ending.. I don't know if I had it by the time I finished the game but I saw this ending as well anyway... Is that rumor true?
@SuperHapa What scene? The "Nor Cloud, nor Squall shall hinder us" line of Zidane disguised as Marcus? Cause I can't remember if I had the Hammer at that time but he said that too..
I believe(not entirely sure since i've beaten the final boss only twice(once with- and once without hammer)) it's the scene where mikoto wonders about the reason for Kuja's existence.
@SuperHapa Eww.... But I think I remember a scene where Mikoto was talking with Regent Cid on the train about Kuja so I might have seen it.. Although I've traded the Hammer I think since it's an item required to make Save the Queen... after I've seen the final scene so I don't think I might be able to see it again unless I beat the game again XD! But from what I remember she doesn't say anything of that vital and most people say that it's a pointless scene so they would gladly trade the Hammer.
@SwordSkill2 Oh god, am I the only one who ever figured out this whole thing? (or atl east the only one who believes to have figured it out?) Right, there is a secret scene in the play at the end if you have the hammer in your inventory. The hammer isn't needed to make the Save the Queen. The scene is about Blank being executed. Quite cool. End of the story.

I love the game! I love the ending, it is perfect and so I will be the first to jump up and disagree with an FFIX sequel or remake if they ever decide to make one however, even though I am against I would like to see the future of the characters, did Red ever settle down, did the 'kids' of Vivi ever get to be powerful black mages like their father, did Beatrix and Stiner ever end up getting pregnant, is Eiko fitting into royal life well etc, it would be nice to see just that part of the idea.

I was crying at the end of this game. Watching this scene again brings me back to my childhood when I ran home from school, grabbed a snack, and spent the rest of the day playing FF. Not only is is fun and entertaining, but it teaches you a lesson, and is a heart-touching game. This game will always be a treasure, and will always be remembered. Well done SquareSoft.

ff9 had to be one of the best games ive ever played but you never hear of the games b4 ff7 like ff4 and others.... just saying ff4 story line wise was one of my favorite games ever but u never hear anyone else say it

I finished this game without summoning and using garnet only as a healer.. why you ask? because i dont know how to summon back then! HAHAHAHA.. only later did i realized that summons could be restored with items.
So i dunno if its an achievement to beat the game without summons or Im just lazy reading instructions how to summon

Just awesome. This whole scene has too much meaning. When Dagger lost her necklace (it's the garnet), it was like telling us she realized she wasn't Queen Garnet, even if she had to rule Alexandria, she was actually like Dagger. Living among all that royality had made her forget who she trully was. And of course, we can't forget all the romantic thing. This was really touching. The game also had an amazing plot. A totally masterpiece.

Her pendant is not a garnet. A garnet is a very dark red stone. The pendant looks more like a crystal.

It is a infamous rumor that one has to possess the Hammer in order to see this ending.. I don't know if I had it by the time I finished the game but I saw this ending as well anyway... Is that rumor true?

I believe(not entirely sure since i've beaten the final boss only twice(once with- and once without hammer)) it's the scene where mikoto wonders about the reason for Kuja's existence.

@SuperHapa Eww.... But I think I remember a scene where Mikoto was talking with Regent Cid on the train about Kuja so I might have seen it.. Although I've traded the Hammer I think since it's an item required to make Save the Queen... after I've seen the final scene so I don't think I might be able to see it again unless I beat the game again XD! But from what I remember she doesn't say anything of that vital and most people say that it's a pointless scene so they would gladly trade the Hammer.

@SwordSkill2 Oh god, am I the only one who ever figured out this whole thing? (or atl east the only one who believes to have figured it out?) Right, there is a secret scene in the play at the end if you have the hammer in your inventory. The hammer isn't needed to make the Save the Queen. The scene is about Blank being executed. Quite cool. End of the story.

Why can't they make an animated movie for FF8 & FF9 like they did for FF7? Hell, do prequel for FFX with Ject, Auron, and Braska as one too.

@TwilightRageX a prequel for FFX with jecht, auron and braska wouldn't have a very happy ending, would it? jecht gives his life to become braska's final aeon, then braska summons the final aeon, dying in the process. an angry auron then goes to yunalesca, tries to attack her, and is thus killed by her...
