  • P.S.

But how come the students are all fat?

  • This is nice! The instructor is really good!

  • Very good your performer,, muy bueno,

  • What a wonderful performance!

Greetings to the Sunshine State California

    from Bavaria, Germany :-)

  • This is the first thing ive been able to find on youtube that even resembles real traditional calypso

  • @MsZumbaHub

Calypso is the dance that goes with the Calypso music. It is African influenced, as the slaves created Calypso inspired by political and oppressive protests.

There are a few good videos here on youtube, check out the "Mighty Sparrow"

This site has a few video clips and a little info.

Look up "Calypso Dance" on ehow.com there's a little info.

  • It's good but not the calypso...

  • wow, great! :) the percussion is magic :) keep it up!

  • I like waffles.

  • We've had endless requests over the years for live percussion recordings of the traditional folkloric drumming from Trinidad. There's been a strange problem with the inside of the recording equipment rattling from the vibrations. We're working on a clear recording and I'll post when we have it. Thank you for the encouragement!

  • I really need a recording of those drums...or something similar...if anyone knows anything about it p.m. me plz

  • props to the lady teaching the class. 5stars

  • this is soooo cooool :)

  • this is soo cool, I took a dance class last semester for my pe credits and the last 7 or 8 classes, they invited teachers of different art forms to teach us, I remember doing this and just being soo happy :)

  • Is there any way that I can get that recording... i have to do a show and the music is PERFECT!!!

  • What is some music that I can for this style of dance? I have some "drums alive", but I love the music.

  • We are using a basic Calypso rhythm from Trinidad. I've heard African and Brazilian rhythms that can sound similar. It's hard to find recordings of the traditional Trinidadian rhythms. Sorry, I don't have a recommendation.

  • Damn dat teacher can dance.. awesome

  • wow, i love the teacher..she should come down to london! the class looks fun:-)

  • the teacher has some 'motherland' in her! excellent vid, i wish i could be in that class bc it looks like fun
