Thanx for telling me the name of the song and group. I've been looking for years on many websites, NOONE knew the song I was referring to because I thought the song was called "Whiskey and Water" I never would have known it was "RIOT" I was looking for. Thanks again!!
Beginning of the end of Whitesnake when Coverdale fired those guys! Sykes did a lot more singing than David will ever admit too, great songwriter and guitarist!
Dude, you did a pretty good job considering you're not tuned the way Sykes is tuned. Your guitar should be tuned as: D flat, A flat, D flat, F, A flat, D flat. Watch how Sykes plays the song acoustically in some of the videos online. You did a good job, just missed it a bit. Keep Rockin!
As I understand it it's one of those tunes in DADDAD. Similar to Rexall by Dave Navarro. I think Iris is in that same tuning. More evidence I'm not a great guitarist:) But it's fun trying. Nice job.
NICE! I looked for a cover performance of this song not more than a few days ago, and there was none to be found so this is especially cool.
That said, some guitar tabs seem to disagree with you quite a bit. I THINK I hear you in Open-D tuning, but it looks and sounds like you are fretting only ONE string for the verses (she said etc)... is that true? Did you figure it out yourself or did you find a tab?
Regardless of how note-on it is or isn't, GREAT JOB! Thanks for sharing!
what tuning are you in?

@briangloew2112
Yes, in the song "Riot" it goes something like "Whisky to water, water to wine, run for life, run for your life"
