@welchsuccess1 sadly she would find it difficult as she is dead and perhaps its better that sweepings from the recording floor are not found to put out substandard material
She could have been an opera star.......her voice had a musical instrument quality....like a beautiful horn of some type.......And her emotive quality was outstanding.....This girl had it all and set a standard that may never be reached again.
I only hope the new biopic focuses on her public and artistic life and not the tawdry, speculated , and most of all, private aspects of things insinuated by lowlifes.
There's another video of a performance of this song on YouTube that's supposedly from the same day, but it's clearly a different performance. This version is shorter, and I think it's much better. In fact, it's as good as or better than the studio version. Huge '60s drama, and the best delivery yet of her closing plea, "Please don't go away." Slays me! Dusty reigns supreme - no other singer from her heyday can best her.
Totally agree with you. I noticed the date thing myself a few months ago. I wonder which performance was first. She must have really loved the song to perform it twice on her show -- what? -- maybe a season or two apart. I love these clips and am missing it if I do not get my "daily Dusty"!
True. I read somewhere that she wasn't entirely happy with her first rendition (so it wasn't broadcast) and did this one on a later show, which was. I agree this one's better - her standards were amazing. Both were sung in '67.

By far the best version. Dusty is at her very best singing this.
Beautiful. The bit at 2:28( i loove you sooo much) says it all, so much emotion.
One of dustys best ever recordings IMHO.

If I ever would have met Dusty, I would have swept her off her feet, or maybe stuttered and stammered like a blubbering idiot.
