  • Very cool! I love the concave design. Next wall, incorporate some bottles...

Rather than paint, you could get the concrete dye powder, it's pretty cheap and goes a long way.

  • thanks @Gwhoohoo

I've used concrete dye in another project.

I've got a southern wall that I'm going to fill with bottles. I think they look great and can't wait to get that done.

  • I like it ! provides function, and it's artsy fartsy as my chick would say.thinking about a waterborne project using papercrete as an alternative to wood in a few places above the waterline.I'm gonna have to see how much makes up a pound.I'm sure I can lighten it up by the addition of more paper to the mix or maybe even add some pearlite.

  • very nice project, I love your window glass. Very classic, the look will stand the test of time.

  • hey looks interesting and i like the round window look....those balls are quite a unique texture....here's to more creative adventures in life....aloha, forest

  • @forestfairness

thanks for the comment, aloha forest

  • the balls are absolutely lovely. it really has a stunning visual effect, keep going ! post another vid!

one could have alot of fun painting those any color as well

please take the time to look up the following people for inspiration

    Nicci Du Saint Phalle

    Hundert Wasser

    Watts Towers

    Gaudi

    Have fun!!!

  • thanks @poosaypirate

  • that looks neater than peter. i was thinking of using paper create to make some window shutters any thoughts on that?

  • Shutters? Yeah. I'm going to do the same thing. Build a shutter frame with chicken wire between members and cover the ch wire in papercrete.

  • Dumb question, but what's portland cement? regular cement or somthin'? Can you build a house?

  • the only dumb question is the one NOT asked!

Portland cement is the full name for cement. Most bags of cement have sand, portland cement, and sometimes gravel in them. A bag of Portland cement is ONLY Portland cement. No sand. No gravel.

  • Hi, thinking of doing something similar, assuming you mixed the papercrete yourself, what recipe did you use?

  • hey, I used the classic

    mix with a small twist:

    4 parts shredded newspaper

    1 part portland cement

1 part white clay (from my backyard)

I wanted the balls to be whiter than gray

  • Awesome!

  • sorry it's been so long. I love it too!
