I found seven of these about a month ago, 1 per day on an apple tree. theyre smaller than this but have lots of long white hairs on the black parts.
I was wondering if you guys knew anything about them. I have all 7 in a 10L bucket with 1 inch of dirt, rocks, twigs, and fresh leaves, as well as cut apple. they seem to be happy. I was wondering how long before they coccoon? and I think they made a nest on a leaf... pretty sure it wasnt there before. how long before the nest hatches? thanks.
They were all over the place here in Maryland during the fall of 2003.
