I spent the month before the GE avoiding watching any TV so as not 2B2 bored by the media so I missed these Marmite Love/Hate Party adverts. I am astonished by their brazenly-biased political nature and amazed they were ever allowed .

4 a branded product to allow their PR people to use, during a GE, such crude Love-Hate images by contrasting marching white "skins" with a playground of happy multi-race children went far beyond any acceptable remit by a commercial firm 4 advertising purposes

I assumed they were since their "Hate Party" adverts clearly breach electoral law as they're so obviously based on the look of the BNP's ads so I thought the BNP must have given them persmission to make them in return for sponsorship of their party political broadcast. As it turns out the BNP are actually taking legal action against Marmite for their vicious smear campaign.

@MitchofSmeg No, Marmite made the "Hate Party" ads first, just look at the dates they were uploaded on YouTube. (Plus at least 1 had been on TV too.) BNP added the Marmite to their ad to get back at Marmite. The BNP have now reported Marmite to the police for their ads because they breach electoral law as they're clearly an attack on the BNP during election time.

@MitchofSmeg Look at the first "Hate Party" ad, the part where the leader is in his office is virtually identical to the BNP ads when Nick Griffin is in his office. Go to the BNP website, they show the comparison there. Also the "Love Party" is clearly supposed to be Labour with the same colours in the imagery for example. Shouldn't Marmite's Love Party have black & yellow like the product?

It's not about the BNP, if the ad was an obvious attack on any party it would break electoral law. (In fact it breaks electoral law by clearly basing the "Love Party" on Labour therefore promoting Labour, so therefore even if the Hate Party wasn't based on any party the Love Party ads would still be a problem.)
