  • John Sykes was the best thing that ever happened to Whitesnake. And this is a seriously good song, the dynamics, shift in tempo and mood. Lets be real, its heavily a John Sykes influenced song. Steve Vai or Adrian Vanderberg would have never come up with this, because they never did.

  • sykes is so amazing on this album, and dunsbar to, played aggressive he did, i love that

  • sykes is so amazing on this album

  • このギターのぎゅいんぎゅいんがやっぱいいっす♪

  • Manque l'emphase juste après 1'57 !!!... vu que tout le morceau vaut pour ce passage (à mon humble avis)

  • great version

  • Thanks, this is great. Would love to hear the original Deep Purple Mark 3 demo which eventually led to this...

  • @GreenerHill If such thing still exist.

  • @cw3le Yes. It's probably in Blackmore's or Coverdale's loft!

  • @GreenerHill so your saying this song dates back to coverdale with purple days

  • @vanhalen515084 Hi VH. Yes, so DC himself has said. From memory: "I found the song literally left over from Purple days. Ritchie had done the backing, and Sykesy finessed it." I know it's a funny thought, but Coverdale had done the same thing before - he said that Is This Love? was based on Time & Again (from Northwinds). If you listen to a song called Rat Bat Blue, from the Purple album just before Coverdale replaced Gillan (Who Do We Think We Are?), you'll hear some similar riffs to SotN.
