  • @lidlurch Oh how I miss it so much:/ . This year were doing some music inspired by Edgar Allen Poe's poem "The Raven." I am super excited I am the dance soloist. Lenore:DDD

  • @AleahLovesChuu sounds way intense! Be sure to send me the link if you guys post a video of the show. That poem is crazy!

  • @AleahLovesChuu here's the show we did last year. it's more corny than our usual ones, but we made it work: /watch?v=RfUsE-JlGHA

  • The darkness and insanity of this piece make it incredible. I could listen to just the first 3 minutes of it on loop for years.

  • There is a prevelant mode to all his work that has a dark undertone. I love how the minor major mode changes he always uses surprise me everytime. It perfectly captures the emotional struggle most musicians turn to metal bands like Opeth for.

  • its a masterpeice

  • love that this is actually music, unlike what most composers put out these days

  • @thesir27 ha! i love the way you said that. im a traditionalist through and through, when it comes to music. i agree.

  • This is absolutely one of my favorite pieces of instrumental music. (at least so far)

  • @BrandonMLX

if you like this check out Leila Josefewics performance of Bruch Violin Concerto

  • Just sayin. Spirit Drum & Bugle corps 2010....this was our opener. this and pyscho music, and Emersons piano concerto.

  • our marching band music is based off this. it's incredible music written by a phenomenal artist!!!

  • We're using this, Blue Strings, and Such for our Marching Show, Hypnotica. We also use Urban Dances movements I, II & lll

Its AMAZING :) Specially with the Battery/Drumline added in.

  • We're using some of this, at least up until 2:46 or so for our Marching Show <3

  • I have seriously loved Danny since I was a little girl...;o) Many, many moons ago. (over 30 years now) This is so beautiful. He is truly a genius. Too bad he doesn't get the recognition he deserves.

  • our band is basing our show off of Vincent Van Gogh and the name and music pretty much fits with his life.

  • we used this at FZW. our show was based on schizophrenia. essentially the theme was no theme. didn't go over well with the judges though...

  • jeez, how many marching bands are using this?

  • Our winterguard used this last year...check it out..vids on youtube

  • Shoot. and Part 3 also has some of I Forget in it.

  • Durand High School in Durand, MI is doing this piece for part of our show. There are 4 movements. This is part one. A brass thing is part 2. Part 3 is based off Improv for Sax but our music writer changed it up a bit so everyone has a part. and I Forget is part 4.

  • lol, same thing with our band, we based most of our show from this

  • Yukon

  • i've admired danny elfman for my entire life, ever since i watched the Nightmare Before Christmas as a little kid.. i think his music from that movie alone led me to have such an interest in music( i now play piano, drums, guitar, and a little bass and harmonica, and i compose a little as well)

i just recently found Serenada Schizophrana and it must be the greatest modern-day music written yet, and i am only more inspired.

  • I agree with you! He is a brilliant composer, and I too get inspiration from him. :)

  • @aLivingCartoon

I can't more than say that I agree with you in every way! He is brilliant and keeps making all this fantastic music. He is a true inspiration! :)

  • @aLivingCartoon You should listen to some of his stuff from the Oingo Boingo days... Pretty interesting as well...

  • My brothers ban is doing this song for marching band too.

  • Reminiscent of his Burton works. I really love the sense of pace throughout.
