If you want a professional flat iron and you are ok with spending around $140 I would highly recommend the Karmin G3 Salon Pro, it heats up to 450f with temperature control, dual voltage, tourmaline ceramic plates with rounded edges which makes it great for also curling your hair. Also has a 3 year warranty. If you do look at other irons make sure to stay away from irons with painted plates (colored plates) these can damage your hair.

@xILoveZainMalik - I'm sorry that it is not working for you, but trust me I've used other straighteners too and it works all the same. I think once you get the hang of it then it will work out. If you have longer hair and less layers try to twist the straightener in you hair more times. Practice makes perfect. Don't give up :) Curlers give a different texture and look then straighteners.

@fxckyourgxd - Thanks for watching :) It could be the straightener or your hair. I would try using a oil serum on your hair everyday for a couple of days and remember to brush it through before trying to curl your hair with the straightener. Also, you can try cleaning the straightener with a clean towel and a small amount of water. Please, to be careful and make sure the heat is off.

I don't really like curls in my hair... I like the wavy or very loose curl look. Can you do a tutorial please? Also, I have the Chi and it doesn't have temp control.. Is there a way to still do loose curls without having to go buy a new iron? I'm a SAHM and do not have the extra funds to buy a new iron =/ Anyway, still a great tutorial! BTW, love the nail color! What color is it???

If you're using a one heat setting curler or straightener such as the Chi, all you will need to do is first find out what temperature it is set at (should be on box or handle). If it is lower than what you would use on a heat control straightener then just hold the iron on the hair longer than the time I did it and vice versa. For wavy hair, go faster when you are pulling the hair through the iron.
