@adamfrandsen is it bad for me to be a Canadian with no Scandinavian background to know exactly how to pronounce that? or am i just imagining my self being that much of a geek?
What a genius! Did you know that he started as a child prodigy?? And made his début at 12(or maybe 14) in the Rachmaninov 2nd concerto? And then he noticed the audience were laughing at him! (he made strange faces when playing without knowing it.) Instead of becoming depressed ("They don't take me seriously!") he thought "Why not do something out of it?" (this is the story he used to tell himself.)
The bassoonist played in his dream, ha!

I love this clip. I wonder who composed the music? I bet he did--wouldn't put it past him. Genius.

Here is the text for the song:
Hønsefødder og gulerødder
og halsen af en svane!
Den som kysser pigerne,
har har en hæslig vane!
Jeg er født i Engeland
og du er født i Skåne
vil du være min lille mand,
så vil jeg være din kone.

I love how every player looks like he plays that instrument. ie the tuba player is greasy and fat, the cymbalist is bald.

His (as the conductor) expression when the piccolo first starts playing is priceless.
It's amazing how he's able to look/feel so different for each musician in the orchestra. Borge was brilliant.

Very glad you posted this funny Victor Borge video from Tivoli. I saw it on Danish TV some years ago, but forgot to record it.
He became the no. one of my favorite comedians.
