To a point that may be true but I'm speaking in terms of micro and your talking about macro. "western science" isn't every scientist. Though we might agree as a conglomerate there is a trend in ideology, for a physicist I can't imagine there being anything other than the mentality that nature is causal, material, predictable and unbiased. Our viewpoints should reflect that. There are millions of brilliant people, hundreds of geniuses. At a point they all forget how to apply occam's razor. This

In all honesty just like the interviewer we are all looking to specialists in whatever perspective suits out own to justify our claims. The problem is that prior to doing research or trying to understand why things are the way they are we already have a biased viewpoint. In general either materialistic or spiritualistic. I feel this is an example of a brilliant man who's ideas have compounded off his original bias.
