I just discovered Sean Lennon, I had no idea he sung. To be honest I was sitting here and comparing him to his father, but I just like to think about the similarities and differences in their voices. I have to say, even if I had no idea who John Lennon was, and I had discovered this song, I would have really liked it no matter what. I look forward to buying some of his CDs :)

Between John's sons, Julian sounds more like John. Sean's voice is higher pitched and nasal. My heart goes out to Sean, but I don't care for his videos, though I've only seen a handful. I only hope 'Mommy Dearest,' isn't helping him write. Toni
Here's just my personal opinion: I don't like the vocal delivery. Melody and harmony are ok though. I can't get what he's saying (very unlike his dad where word came out perfectly). One more time, this is just the way I feel about this music
This song amazes me, I love John Lennon, and I didn't think he'd live up to what I expected, but he surpassed it, and I was blown away, His voice, it shocked me, I didn't expect him to sound like him so much.
Bravo Sean you did the unexpected. When I was watching the music video I thought Sean would win the fight at the end, and I was honestly hoping he would not because it would have been more interesting that way. This being my first time watching the music video I was saying he's gonna live what a generic ending, when he fell to the ground I was amazed. Who ever developed this music video is better than most because although its not a complex ending to engineer it is a uncommon ending.
Sean has to learn how to open his mouth and pronounce his words and get rid of the mommy nasal baby tone he uses...Grow up and sing like a man dude....

But most people tend to put it as an offence towards Sean, which is absurd in my pov :) About their appearance, I think Julian looks more like his father than Sean. The major difference, imo, is that Sean tries to look more like John. Perhaps influenced by Yoko, like I said the woman loves money.

Like I said it's a trend mark and because he's John's son(with Yoko) people say that he has his father's looks. Different pov I guess.

You can see it in the video where he isn't wearing glasses and he looks very much like his father. He looks like both John and Yoko as does Julian with John and Cynthia and all the Beatles kids. I can always see both parents in their children.
@tubiebrother Well that's your personal opinion. From my pov, I see a lot more of John in Julian than in Sean. Sean for me has a lot of Yoko's genes aka asiatic genes.
@Haruhiichan I can why people see more John in Julian. He's caucasian like John. But to not see a strong resemblance of John in Sean one must have something wrong. It has nothing to do with the glasses. That's insulting to people who can totally see it. There's a video of Sean as a boy talking about Stepping Out and he so looks like John at an early age. The eyes are really similar. He's not wearing glasses in that one either.

Oh no, you're right. He's done pretty well. I'm not worried at all he's a grown up man. People scream when they introduce him and he performs. Sean had his records go to only 156 on the charts.

@Haruhiichan Oh, if the Beatles or Paul McCartney aren't even well known where you are from, then that's a whole different story. Here in the U.S., Julian is very well known and has been for decades. People know who sang his songs. They get about the same amount of publicity on tv now (Letterman, Jimmy Fallon, Conan, etc., but Julian back in his first few years was all over the place. Check out the Arsenio Hall with Julian. He was even in the Chuck Berry concert video singing a song John sang.

Between John's sons, Julian sounds more like John. Sean's voice is higher pitched and nasal. My heart goes out to Sean, but I don't care for his videos, though I've only seen a handful. I only hope 'Mommy Dearest,' isn't helping him write. Toni

Here's just my personal opinion: I don't like the vocal delivery. Melody and harmony are ok though. I can't get what he's saying (very unlike his dad where word came out perfectly). One more time, this is just the way I feel about this music

Bravo Sean you did the unexpected. When I was watching the music video I thought Sean would win the fight at the end, and I was honestly hoping he would not because it would have been more interesting that way. This being my first time watching the music video I was saying he's gonna live what a generic ending, when he fell to the ground I was amazed. Who ever developed this music video is better than most because although its not a complex ending to engineer it is a uncommon ending.

@themillenia Thanks. Oh well, he's right and he knows it's true. Obviously they sing in different styles but Julian has a better voice than him. It's nothing personal, it's just a general opinion. But most people tend to put it as an offence towards Sean, which is absurd in my pov :) About their appearance, I think Julian looks more like his father than Sean. The major difference, imo, is that Sean tries to look more like John. Perhaps influenced by Yoko, like I said the woman loves money.

Like I said it's a trend mark and because he's John's son(with Yoko) people say that he has his father's looks. Different pov I guess.

You can see it in the video where he isn't wearing glasses and he looks very much like his father. He looks like both John and Yoko as does Julian with John and Cynthia and all the Beatles kids. I can always see both parents in their children.

It has nothing to do with the glasses. That's insulting to people who can totally see it. There's a video of Sean as a boy talking about Stepping Out and he so looks like John at an early age. The eyes are really similar. He's not wearing glasses in that one either.

@tubiebrother Well I can see why some people see John in Sean, too. It's just that Sean is much more like his mother than he is like John. It's a small resemblence; the nose is a LITTLE aquiline, his face is large like John's and his eyes are a bit like John's (but Sean's eyes are bit larger, imo).
Julian has his father's face. The only thing he has that "belongs" to his mother is, maybe, his mouth.

I've always had a great eye and ear too. If you can't see Cyn in Julian through the eyes and nose and cheeks and not just the mouth, there is something wrong. I'm not trying to criticize really. But to say people see John in Sean because he's his son or because he wears glasses and not because he looks a lot like him isn't right.

If you can't see Cynthia's eyes and nose..I don't know, You are unable for some reason. Stick Around was his first #1 single on the U.S. Album Rockchart. Now You're In Heaven was his second #1 hit. Sean never had any hits at all. Julian does fine!

Oh no, you're right. He's done pretty well. I'm not worried at all he's a grown up man. I just don't appreciate the way Sean had it all handed because of his mother mostly and Jules had to fight for it. The fact that Yoko does everything behind the back with Julian. Even today he needs to buy stuff that belonged to his father and was for him, which's pretty disgusting.

Even more than I mentioned. They play his music on the radio all of the time and I hear oike 3 of his songs in the groceries store constantly. He's been on the late night talk shows even recently. People scream when they introduce him and he performs. Sean had his records go to only 156 on the charts.

She always took care of the finances and business end of the deal when John was alive too. He left her in charge of that because he said he didn't have any business sense. And she was his partner in the music as well. But that doesn't mean she is getting Sean publicity. That is because he is John Lennon's son. Same with Julian. But really the quality of the work sells Cds

@Haruhiichan Oh, if the Beatles or Paul McCartney aren't even well known where you are from, then that's a whole different story. Here in the U.S., Julian is very well known and has been for decades. People know who sang his songs. They get about the same amount of publicity on tv now (Letterman, Jimmy Fallon, Conan, etc., but Julian back in his first few years was all over the place. Check out the Arsenio Hall with Julian. He was even in the Chuck Berry concert video singing a song John sang.

@tubiebrother Well where I live most people don't know who Julian is, they even think that John was only married to Yoko and that the only son he had was Sean. They know John only for the Yoko period. Jules cd's aren't for sell at all. In the other hand Sean is known, he even played here once, and that's a little because of what I said. Julian had to promote himself. On the contrary, Sean being the son of John/Yoko has more facility and his mother helps. The charts are something subjective imo.

@tubiebrother About the glasses, I've seen people say that Sean looks like John and it's because of it. Some people, tend to forget about Jules and that's because Sean's the son of John w/ Yoko. He wears the same type of glasses as John, you're going to tell me that it isn't a bit of a commercial thing(maybe not from him but from yoko)? When you wear something that it's linked to one of your parents people tend to see more of them in you, that's a fact. And that happens a lot with Sean.
