Now what a professional at work...you're adorable....if you work hard enough at trying to harden up your soul, then you may be allowed to self dillude the truth. The truth in your case, is you are genuinely lonely....sociopaths are not capable of loneliness....you are painfully aware of circumstances that illicit a emotional response....old lady, baby....you immediately identified the two most vulnerable segments of society....because that's exactly who you would protect

Look at you trying to label behavior, rather than truly understanding it.....I would encourage you to find your own depth....can you feel what you describe? Are you able to become what you study to truly understand the base drive? Have you ever been trapped in your own head? I think most people are! Sociopath means somebody who sees everyone else as a resource to be used....there is no base gut feeling that says....I'm hurting them

:) I think the behaviorist definitions are a bit lacking too because they go by the symptoms and not the underlying disorder, they're trying to lump us all in with Antisocial Personality Disorder now too.

:3 I'm a slightly less well adapted sociopath but still technically high functioning, it's nice to see another functional female sociopath, males seem to come out more or become self aware more than we do.

If you genuinely don't feel any empathy for others then you are probably quite correct. At least you're high functioning enough to know that even though you don't experience the emotional connection that most other people aren't faking it. I guess the upside is you know you're different but really won't feel badly about it. Law abiding sociopaths don't get much press. We associate it with criminals because if they are murderous, for example, then we can't understand the lack of motive.

You have facial affect. Are you sure you have never felt any guilt or remorse over a mistake or bad deed you've done? Have you never felt compelled to contribute or do a good job at your job? Trauma and other causes can cause muted emotions, even for years.
