@07Disneygrl Actually, she did (kind of) know she was beautiful. One night, she was at a house party in Hollywood. Another female singer found Judy upstairs in one of the bedrooms crying. They had a talk & Judy was crying over someone saying she wasn't pretty enough. The other lady said, "Judy, with those eyes of your & the soul & expression that comes out when you sing, you're more beautiful than all of them." They had a good cry and went back downstairs.
Boah! Quelle vitesse! Quel tempérament! Normalement, ce titre est interprêté d'une manière triste et pensive; c'est souvent une sorte de plainte... ou de prière..mais ici s'imposent l'énergie et la joie de vivre!
Her voice, here at Carnegie Hall, really begins to open up here (the next item was Alone Together) and you can hear the wonderful, natural power of her magic. Thank You for generously posting this.
All the pics of Judy with Liza are great! She was such a beautiful little girl. I remember reading in one of the biographies about how terrified Vincent Minnelli was that she would be hideous--something about low self-esteem on his part regarding his looks--and how amazed he was by her beauty when he first saw her. I don't know how reliable the story is given that there are so many inaccurate biographies out there for Judy, but I always though it was a sweet story anyway:)
So so so bad that her private life does not go well. She was so wonderfull and really a nice person I think! My good shit barbiturates! Never forget she was hooked on barbiurate (and amphetamins) about 30 Years! Judy RIP in Peace and sing for good, he will smile and say "FANTASTIC"!
i cant believe it looking at these pictures that judy garland herself never thought herself as beautiful until she did meet me in st louis, UNBELIEVEABLE TALENT.
Great little thing about forgetting the "god-darn words" played it twice till i noticed haha nice vid
i cant believe ppl a the studio thought she wasnt pretty!!! idiots!! what a talent! i love baby liza a 1.44 such a cutie pie :D great song and video xxxx
Probably the biggest star of the 20th century. When she performed, you literally couldn't take your eyes off her, no matter who she was on stage with. What a gift she had!
i'm 14, and i'm about 4'11. at school it's really intimidating because everyone now a days are too tall for their age. and what you said actully made me smile. (: thanks! x
Was she only 4'11? That's so cool!!!! My idol is Kristin Chenoweth and she's only 4'11 too! And she's 40!!!! And she starred in Wicked, which is supposed to be the preguel to the Wizard of Oz. But she wasn't Dorothy, she was Glinda. She's like the blonde and more modern version of Judy Garland!!!! Kristin's more of an Opera singer though. Shes known for opera because her talking voice sounds like a three year old, while her singing voice sounds like a 50 year old's.
the picture at about 1:55 with judy, liza and baby lorna (or joey? cant remember whos older lol) is just beautiful. liza was so sweet!! thank you for this, fab video! :)
u said this word like a sad person that suddenly gets happy cause he finds a forgotten toy and he sees in that toy the lost childhood , a scream so sincere :) i felt it this way at least
She forgets the lyrics, and ad libs, while staying on key, and not missing a beat. Unlike Ashlee Simpson, who could only do a stupid dance after the tape stopped, and looked like a high school kid with stage fright. That is the difference between a great professional artist, and the overhyped amateurs, that are prevalent today. I rest my case.

this is amazing i dont really hear really hear her singing like this and i think its so JUDY, i love the way she can just carry on the song after making a cute mistake. i think its funny that she could keep the song going without the right words!!!
I was totally thinking that even before I read your comment!! tHAT is kind of scary. Fortunately, Kristin has not had to suffer some of the things Judy did.
Kristen Chenoweth is not the level Judy Garland was and remains even after her death though. So I don't see the comparison other than they were both stars on broadway.
you all who love judy garland im only 14 and love her since forever but theres a movie i've seen on her it was an NBC or ABC movie but her and shirley temple both tried out for dorthy and judy got it bc. of her dad
Yeh shirley didn't have a powerful voice that judy had. They wanted someone who was young though so they decided to make judy simply look younger by her outfit and hair. Shirley was supposed to be the original Dorothy but MGM decided against it.
If I'm not mistaken, Shirley's contracts/agent/something in that vein would not allow her to do The Wizard of Oz. That and she "just wasn't quite right for the part".
lol dats halarious i've heard this song before and i never noticed that!!! oh and by the way after the god-darn words part she mumbles random syllables lol it is halarious!!!!
Funnily enough its called "You Go to my head" and you will find it on Judy live at Carnegie Hall, might be bit of a mission to find it but worth the effort
Judy was a professional. She would never "rehearse" to "forget" her lyrics. In fact, her continuing her song even after forgetting the lyrics shows her professionalism. She always told her children when about to do a show with them to "have fun but be professional".

I don't understand why producers always tell her she's unattractive, that's the reason why she's insecure about her looks :(
But in contrary,I find her very uniquely beautiful and a great actress..
Certainly one of my favorites.. :)
