Two reasons why we don't pre-package these beforehand:
Not everyone needs or can even use some of these items. Ex: Some men are bald, and thus wouldn't need shampoo or a comb. This way we can save those items for folks who have lots of hair. lol
Also if we pre-packaged them, the actual giving away part would take 5 minutes. We want to stretch it out in time, to facilitate more communication. Every minute we're there is fun for us. It's always over too quick.
its the idea that you can help another person. in long run that toilet paper will run out but idea of helping another person will never run out....unless your a dueche and phuk you over wich many cases it hapens..but we all should be aware of are actions and ourselves...but some people grow not know ing what means...because drugs, past trauma,greedyniss..etc my view and only mine, and respects those who agree and and disaggree.
I'm not validating anything. I'm just telling you what he said. Let me ask you a follow up. He goes to jail for 2 weeks and then is released. Now, he's got a record and still no job. Now what?
err, that's what I thought you'd say. That doesn't help. However, I will ask some next time why they aren't working. The one guy I talked to had an outstanding fine and if he goes to work then it's most likely he'll get arrested (warrant)for not paying the fine so he chooses to remain unemployed for that reason.
Secondly I sort of understand what he is trying to say. I worked with homeless people in Central London and many of then CHOSE to stay on the street as there were so many free services being given to them..their own words!
I will say that many did want to get off the street and we helped them as best we could!
Yeah I hear ya. I'm sure there are plenty of those types out there. I like to think that we have such a nice city that anyone would get help here, and immediately see how nice it is to live here, that they'd want to stay, and would want to be enough of a part of this city that they'd be in a nice home.
Getting them off the street is obviously a big goal, and is a bit too much for us to focus on right now. Plus I think everyone has it within themselves to do that eventually.
err, I hear that all the time and politely ask what you think we should do. Please don't say yell at them to get a job cause that isn't going to work. If you have a good idea I'm all for it.
atheism pretty much comes naturally when one lets it. its the idea of eternal torment and reward that has to be pushed

I honestly don't think many people looked at the sign.
Very cool thing though!, atheists don't have to be the monsters theists think we are.

Just a thought: Wouldn't it be a good idea to get everything bagged up the night before?

Yes. After I posted my comment - and giving it a little more thought - I realised why you didn't pre-pack everything (silly me).
Anyway, I'll certainly be making a small donation soon. Keep up the good work.

I guess the one man didn't want toilet paper. So my question is where would they use it? Under the bridge?
limpnail 2 years ago
In the bushes as there is plenty of those types of spots around there, just not right under the interstate.

Very cool. These are the only actions worth anything anymore.
