Even with his control and skill, I find it interesting that Bozzio still has a few slips here and there - for instance the rim taps at around the 1:20 - 1:30 mark, and the hi-hat at 1:43 or so. Personally, I like it - it shows that even the absolute best at the job aren't always perfect, and it even adds some variety and unpredictability to the music.
What ever any one says. These two drummers are two of the most out there and gifted drummers that ever drew breath. It may sound like nosie to the uninlightined. But to those who know about there drums, they know this is a work of art. Just sit back and enjoy.
I accepted a long time ago that Bozzio is probably the greatest drummer of our time, the dead strokes, the buzzes, and most of all the control. But I am very impressed by Wackerman, his form and technique are superb. Perfect french roll with the Tymp mallets, good stuff.
This is in fact a Bozzio composition. You can watch him play it solo if you go to his website and buy his solo CD. There are about 9 or 10 original comps like this, but all distinctly different -- it is utterly amazing. Wackerman's just along for the ride. Bozzio not only has virtuoso technique -- he is the most innovative and artistic drummer of whom I know.
@jas0nv00r33s you know of anybody else who takes intervals into account when tuning?
