what i would give for dinasour jr to play at reading again....i pray to god they play in 2012. i love them so so much and what makes me sad is the amount of clueless people at reading these days who dont appreciate the music. i was there this year watching interpol and someone next to me actually asked "who is interpol"..it's so disgraceful.
@musicislove25 should have checked out Yuck at Reading this year man, they're ripping off Sonic Youth and Dino very blatantly but they are pretty good.
@Jowea omg, dont talk to me about yuck srsly..they were the band i was most excited to see and somehow i managed to miss the whole set! i love them, yeah they do sound very similar to both :) seeing them in november tho so all is good...did you see them?
@musicislove25 I know who Interpol is. they are that one band that really wishes they were joy division and are "indie" cause they can rip off a sound that was around 30 years ago that no one today remembers.
@heavyminded09 mate, let's not take this to a personal level....i love joy division and yes interpol are clearly inspired by them. but nirvana also ripped off the pixies, doesnt make them any less of a good band, lets leave it at that yeah?
Ahh memories..i was there and the year before when they played the main stage were those fucking ''Stupid'' iron maiden fans Boo'ed everyone apart from iron maiden fucking assholes.
How can anyone not recognize the greatness of this band? It's not like they're playing super sophisticated music that's hard to get into, yet I've seen a few recent festival vids with Dino and the crowd isn't that into them. Very sad. I guess they'd rather listen to Nickelback or something.
I for one fucking love maiden - grew up listening to them and happen to be one of those maiden fans. I also Fucking love DJ. The people in which you are referring to in your Comment were jumped up little shitbags who im sure many thousands of Maiden fans would rather not be assosicated with.
I'd reccomend any of the first three albums to start off with, Dinosaur, You're Living All Over Me and Bug. They are three of the best albums ever, hope you enjoy them.
Yes-Jowas hit the nail on the head. The first three albums(ones with this original lineup) are golden. However all their albums are worth owning imo. Green Mind, Where You Been, Without A Sound(has this song) Hand It Over, and Beyond are the others.
if ur looking 4 the full dino norwegian wood concert from 12/06/2008 in have it ..click here + more not yet on you tube..subscribe and u'll know when i post more..enjoy!!
yeah man he looks awesome with silver hair. i saw them two years ago at the cats cradle in chapel hill nc. brilliant show! i hope to catch them again soon.
Just because someone isn't jumping around like a loon doesn't mean they aren't enjoying the music. Shouldn't be gauged that way. I saw Mascis play and loved it, but stood motionless in the front row, albeit with a big silly grin on my face the whole time.
Is it up to me - To tell you people out there how much these guys rock.I've been listening to these guys for years and years.I think they are the best kept secret in rock & roll.

as a generality, if the song is over 4 minutes, it probably rocks cause it has a mascis solo in it
jsquared91 3 years ago 5
Just get in there and start choppin'.
pyenapple 2 years ago 5
Yea, deffinetly start off with the early stuff
I like Lou's bass tone more than J's or Mike's
But yea, their later stuff is great also, if you can get over the fact that Mascis alienated the rest of the band

I was there, was a bit of a lame crowd, but I suppose they wernt as well known as other bands playing in other tents.
It did get lively in the first couple of rows, made it worth it :)
