  • OMG!, robots going to overtake the earth

  • free will would be the only thing that would stop a sentient thing to dont attack his so called creator, the lack of free will and slavery has proved through history that the only natural reaction is chaos....robots must be free if they get an advanced AI close to our sentient humanity or theyll kill the lazy inefficient flesh beings that created them.

  • is this kinda like GITS coming true or something?

  • The beginning is so stupid... those little bots will not FEEL anything...they have no self awareness hence there will be no genuine experience.

  • this is such a horrid idea I always though, Robots will never really attack, its all programmed with no free will... I guess I just assumed nobody would be stupid enough to give them free will.... uhg.

  • The internet is messing with everything I say. If I make a comment that youtube doesn't like for example it won't accept it. It even changes what I type right before my eye's. I think the internet has become intelligent or has become possessed in some way or other. The games it plays with me are very intelligent and instantanious. I'd be interested to hear if anyone else has been having similar problems with youtube and the internet.

  • @Rob187ok Sounds more like you're either schizophrenic or you have a trojan horse on your computer and someone is screwing with you.

  • @ScaryGuy255 ,,, You could bre right about a trojan horse on my computer or someone is screwing with me,,, but I don't think I'm schizophrenic because the problems are confined to stuff happening on the internet and on my computer. As it happens my computer has started to act normally again,, but I have cleaned it up and updated the software.

  • This all seems very Andrew-Ryanistic to me.

  • The worst thing for human evolution would be for us to take charge of it. I'd say nature did a pretty good job of getting us to where we are, considering the miniscule amount of time we've been on the planet, in any of our specie forms. And to thank nature we're going to spit in its face and say, thanks but you're not fast enough for us now, after a few decades we think that we know what you should have been up to all along and so we'll take it from here. Go work on the chimps or the whales.

  • But, humans are a part of nature, us evolving ourselves is the same thing as nature evolving us. There is no stopping it.

  • I wonder if there is a virus that only effects people after a year of having it.

then it could spread without people warning others. :D

  • so...weve become that lazy that we cant be bothered to talk anymore and comunicate by thought.. well done

  • Downloading an entire language to your brain in mere minutes? Where's the fun in that? It seems we are getting incredibly lazy :P

  • its not lazy, imagine all the wasted years you spend in school, you could skip school and go on to work.

  • True, but I'd rather put the effort in and learn properly though. I'm sure some people would agree lol. But yes, I see your point of view also. There would be so much more time on our hands. Time itself would mean less in the scheme of things if we learnt anything we wanted at just the click of a finger :P

  • Computer viruses - are destructive programs --- veeery competently.

  • Computer virus can be very destructive. It is true. But I believe they are part of the evolution. Improving the over all security of computers. They are like real viruses for human. Necessary in the evolution process.

  • Microsoft can't even make a home computer that is dependable. We've got a way to go.

  • People like you need to stop whining and bitching. Windows XP is a fine operating system, crashes have become *very* rare (maybe once or twice in a year). A modern home computer is completely dependable (much more so than some appliances) if you're not as dumb as a brick and thus unable to handle it correctly.

Vista is not as good I hear but Windows 7 is supposed to be a big step in the right direction.

  • I'm not whining and bitching (just imagine James Earl Jones's calming voice when you read what I write). It's a simple state that borders so close to truth that you could even call it truth. I said that we have a long way to go. The only reason to get cybernetic implants is because they would be superior to flesh, right? Right now computers can't self-repair, they're obsolete within months, and getting viruses would mean dependency on corporate anti-virus protection.

  • Part 2

And you can't have a synapse implant, heart regulator, for blood cleansing enhancement crash *only* once or twice a year and still survive.

So yes, we have a long way to go. In fact, if you want to get specific, I'll even go so far as to say we have a long, *long* way to go.

  • "And you can't have a synapse implant, heart regulator, for blood cleansing enhancement crash *only* once or twice a year and still survive."

LOL, WTF You have no idea what you're talling about (obviously). And I never said that we don't have a long way to go, I was pointing out that Microsoft has long ago managed to put together a reliable OS which you denied.

  • Oh word. Well in terms of their OS, no man, it's still vulnerable as balls. Don't get me wrong, I'm all about being on my comp and using windows all day long, but I wouldn't call it reliable... by any definition, really. There's actually five computers in this house, all using windows, and there's something wrong with at least one of them all the time. And the people in this house aren't 60 year old computer illiterates, either.

So for anyone to wholeheartedly think that cybernetics (more

  • (Continued)

... to think that cybernetics is even viable in the *near* future should just take a step back for a minute. I would never masturbate while using a Microsoft cybernetic dick implant, no matter how big it was or how fun it was to use.

And technically, neither one of us knows what they're talking about when it comes to cybernetics. Although we could have a Ghost in the Shell or Bladerunner if we really get bored...

  • You can use Linux or Mac OS instead. Microsoft is not very good at making operating systems.

  • @tubetib Then why do they have 90% of the market share?

I prefer BSD, but I'm just saying, if it were complete crap no one would use it instead of just those that are smart enough to know better.

  • @ScaryGuy255 Because they are good at the marketing process I guess. They were offering a solution to people with Office. An OS alone has almost no value for most of us. And we don't buy a product because it is good. We buy because we think it is.

  • This is retarded and misleading.

You can tell exactly how they'll respond and react.

    Hilarious.

  • the internet...or skynet??

  • ok what if our memory chip or robotic body parts get a very dangerous virus, that means that our robtic arm will beat ourselfs to death or maybe major brain damage. our brain can hold more info then a computer anyway a computer only know what you show it.

  • Alarmist and moderately unrealistic. Computer technology is advancing far faster than neurology, and we'll need both to be really advanced to be able to implant chips in our brains. Even if the computers of the next few decades are capable of it, we still won't understand our brains well enough to do anything about it.

Human physical enhancements are more possible, though.

Nanobots gone awry wouldn't be any more dangerous than any other virus, it's silly to think that they would be.

  • theres no choice here, this is what is going to happen

the future of humanity will look like gattaca

the question is how much of what was presented possible

but no matter what kind of laws or ethics are used to impede progress (and probably will be used in conservative christian america) there is no international law that can hinder biological or technical advancements

start saving for your kids enhancements now

  • One optimistic view is that enhanced people might not want to compete with the rest, and give anyone access to upgrades (no need of resented insecurity).

Or adopt the motto: "Resistance is futile". That would be lovely.

  • Up grades better be avellable 4 every body!

  • dude, living forever is probably not possible in the near future, it will probably take more than a century

  • What about extending your life more than a century, by then immortality would exist in flesh.

  • there's no medicine yet that can 'extend' ones life, but there are medicines to heal aging-diseases, but that can keep ya going for a limited while. But there are this rich people spending lots of money on being freezed till the moment the medicine is there, but you have to have tons of money and it isn't reliable. people need to just accept death, people are scared of the unkown. Who knows if there is a afterlife.

  • true, very true, but we're seem to be getting close. Besides, I'm sick of dying... lol

  • even if you could prolong your life indefinitely, you won't survive the end of the universe (unless we can move to a new parallel universe).

  • DOH! Good point, and besides, humans might get sick of life over time anyway, but a 1,000 years of nice enjoyable and adventurous life would be awsome.

  • I want to live forever, biologically. Living on by tranferring memories only makes oneself immortal in other peoples eyes.

However I'd like to see people with artificial wings, tails and horns.

    This video discounts androids :(

Final note, I'll never afford upgrades.

  • I say, keep it up! I want to become immortal! Plus the most advance kid in the world. Nevertheless I hope I will be alive by then, I'm just 15. So hey who ever posted this video, you rock!!!

  • im looking forward to inplanted wireless headphones that run on body energy and can be controlled by will. Cause them plugs keep popping out now. Artificial ears is the shit .. imagine being at a concert and being able to tune your private equalizer and closing you ears like you do with your eyes.

  • Well, I'd say we go on ahead. I'd love to have such enhancements implanted in me.

  • This is more ridiculous than when they used to say we would all fly around in zeppelins!

Neuroscience and cognitive neuropsychology are very far from being able to push AI to human levels.

Learning a language involves creating enormous amounts of patterns in our brains, connecting every word to all other relevant concepts that are represented and situated differently in each of our unique minds.

Nanotechnology is barely managing to pile some molecules together.

    This is complete bs.

  • I'm guessing that there will be two scenarios: 1)the machines develop in to some type of organisms what will need a power source...in that case the humans could become become one with the machine being...well I don't really know what to call it. 2)The machines develop further than us and simply begin to use humans as batteries without any kind of free will...so that would be the matrix concept. Kinda gives the chills...but I still think that I will not live that long to see all that happen.

  • The usual stuff. Cant wait for Singularity though.

  • just remember people- the more of yourself you give away such as your personal rights for a foreign power other than yourself to control such as government and computers, the more of a slave you become- remember that...

  • technological progress is untoppable

  • enough is enough, Why did God destroy the tower of babel?

  • shut the fuck up you son of a bich!

  • awesome video but very scary thought especially considering that that robots would be controlling us in the end. Enhancing yourself is like downloading "bonzi buddy" which will leech you with spyware and viruses and eventually kill you. Then you gotta pay more cash for cleaning tools, defrag tools, etc, its gonna be a mess.

  • no doubt an enhanced human would pity the handicapped unenhanced and fabricate a nano viral automatic enhancer. It will not be a matter of choice. And you won't regret it for a second.

  • Yeah it's a terrifying concept!

  • uhh no human anymore that's the way we going to become a robot?

  • thanks for this vid

  • evil power , notice this researches are miltary oriented

  • this is nice video and infotmative too!
