AAAHH I think you punched those holes out before you made the video :), (Just kidding), That's some very nice shooting, I also shoot Savage rifles in 300 Win Mag and 243 Win and love the accuracy of these "not so expensive guns" not to mention very well built.
@dcassese617 - Yes, but on tactical or any other match where the spotting scope is not allowed you cannot see the holes on target to do any corrections.
nice rifle to bad ya spent the money on gloves instead of investing in a better scope..lolJust Kidding.. how ya like the Osprey? hold zero well and track ok?
@mrblueagian - Osprey is ok for the price. Well once you have the group 2-3 inches close to the center start using Kentucky windage :) I have a Weaver Target T-Series 36x40 scope and holds much better but is 3 times more money.
@ColdFusion0 IU had purhcased a bushnell elite 3200 tactical in a 10 power and wow for the pirce I have never had a scope that was as clear tracked as good or held zero so well.. in fact the reason I bought it is because I hadone come on a barret .50 call i purchased and is still on it to this day with no loss of zero... check it out.. ya will find its the best 200 bucks ya ever spent .. u cn see it on my vids..
@ColdFusion0 ok thanks yeah. i i looked it up and on some site it said 1000yards but, thought i'd wait to see what you say any one can say, but asking some one who knows 1st hand is best and thanks again i'll be ordering one as soon as i can lol oh and do you know if it be good on a savage 30-06 just hoping you know. just getting into rifles know a little more about 9mms
@harpy2010 - Because most of the scopes out there dont have a nough clicks for elevation adjustment that can be corrected by installing higher scope mount base on the rear receiver.
@harpy2010 - 30-06 is a good choice for long range shooting. If you looking to go over 1000 yards you may wont to consider getting .338 lapua or 300 Win. Mag.
@ColdFusion0 ok one more thing man i'm looking for a scope that can go at at least 400 yards. sadly have to find one cheap for what it can do if you can rekamend any i'm sure ebay is best way to go but hey never know
I have a Savage 10FCP with HS precision stock, bull/floated barrel, the whole bit. I love the .308 caliber... My best groups are with 168 grain Barnes bullets and 41.5 grains Varget cylindrical powder... Similar load to what you were shooting (I think). Nice .308!
yesterday i went to the range aND USED a club rifle .308 we were shooting factory ammo and this gun was a good 40 years old yet i still managed to extremely well not sure how. oh and we were using apeture sites
well im a younger dude but ive shot both i perfer the 30 30 then 308 after shooting the 308 my arm hurt like a b*tch lol but also 308 is a sniper rifle so its better for lo nger distance shots but i would recomend go and try to find a range that lets u rent rifles and then go out and shoot the two and then could decide more easly
im selling my like new savage arms 111 .30-06 its on gunbroker its comes with a 160.00 scope, bipod and recoil stock pad. the guns worth well over 600. i paid 420 for just the gun it's self. let me know if anyones interested i can send you the link
Nice, I miss that place, I live further south now, same state. Was a member there for years. Thanks for the video. Is J** still there ? & his 2 cocker spaniels? Enjoy your time there, its a good range, nice people.
not you, but some ass gave me a -1, look over at the thumbs up, thumbs down , its rights next to the reply/remove for each comment.. Probably some Anti Gunner , who knows. U tube is strange like that. Anyway, good luck with your shooting. enjoy.
i have a .22lr for rabbits and foxes and a .223 for pigs and dogs/cats but want a bit better. is the 308 more accurate and powerful for longer distances, bigger animals?
If you have a 24inch barrel then for long range accuracy you need to shoot 175gr. Matchkings or something with a similar B.C. 168gr. is great for up to 500yds but to get out to 1000yds with best accuracy you need 175's.
I started researching this rifle about 2 days ago, and defn. going to buy this week. Everyone i talked to said to change out the stock. I heard about HS, Macmillan. I see you are no different. What is the make of that stock? Excellent shooting! And I love your range.
Wow, great shooting! I couldn't really read your load data on the ammo box. What load concoction were you shooting? I have the exact same rifle, and would like to load up something more accurate than 150gn plinking rounds. Thanks for sharing!

i got the savage 111 f what do you think is better 30-06 or 308 im a beginer if you have noticed lol thanks man
MrAndythoms 2 years ago
30-06 is more powerfool fo hunting. You can take large game like elk and black bear.
.308 has less recoil , cheaper to shoot and has similar trajectory like 30-06.

oh dam thanks for the info do you know anything about painting the berrel i got desert camo on my stock but my berrel is blued

okay so im just getting into shooting...duz this have a worse kick than a 30/30 ?
alexMXpimp 3 years ago
About same. But 30 30 is more for hunting up to 200 yards. It is not acurate above 200 yards.
ColdFusion0 3 years ago
I beg to differ; I shoot quite well with mine at 300-400 yards without a scope.
