when you pull back the nose there is not enough lift to take the entire aircraft weight. you pull back the nose at the begging and when the speed creates more lift, then the rest of the plane takes of. thats as simple as i can put it really. :)

If take-off's bother you, what youcan do is when the aircraft is taxing, fasten your seatbelt and close your eyes, and try to "zone out" as much as possible. You can also try anxiety pills... but im not a theripist if problems contine see your GP.

@v12lamborgini224 I fly a lot due to my ob and it never gets easier. when i bored the plane i put my headphones on straightaway and listen to a band called sigur ros (listen to what you want to obviously! lol) the stewards ask me to take them out but as soon as they sit down i put the headphones back on. It helps a lot, like lamborginhi syas, zone out, thats my tip for zoning out
