I personally think this is the worst sequel I have ever seen! Batman begins was ok, but this is worse! Ledger did a TERRIBLE job as Joker! The entire movie was a bag of vomit!

the only downside to what christopher nolan is doing with the batman series is that hes making it to where batman is the only superhero in his world so there will never be the much asked for meeting of batman and superman. his brother is doing the same thing with the superman reboot "Superman: Man of Steel"
Dont get me wrong and start "thumb downING" me but actually since the beginning "Harvey Dent" did became two-face the problem here was that they didn't catch the whole transformation of him well because they were time limited, and welI think Heaths is the best performance ever and and one of the best if not the best ever lived, but one thing you can say not to him but to the role was that the original joker is supposed to be white(literal) skinned not painted but well that wasnt his choice!

But I feel that after seeing it plenty of times, the only scenes I want to skip ahead to are just the scenes involving the Joker. Without him, this movie would probably lose my interest in time. Heath Ledger did NOT gain so much credit for his role just because he died, but because he really is that FUCKING good. That cannot even be argued with.
He was right, if there was no Heath Ledger, it would have been pretty ordinary. Still good, but no where near as fantastic as to what The Joker made it.

I think the reviewer here is actually over-simplifying The Joker's motivations.
The Joker doesn't just do destroy things to prove he can do it. He's someone with a philosophy and a world view that genuinely believes 'upsetting the established order' is justified, in order to let chaos reign supreme, since, as he says himself, chaos is fair. He's not just an anarchist, he's a politicised terrorist.
this and batman begins are different from any comic book movie before it. it actually made some sense and was much more realistic than something like spiderman. im not a superhero fan, but this is one of my favorite movies. heath ledger and everyone else (except for maggie gyllenhal) were phenominal.

The movie is amazing but I think there is one thing that is kinda flawed. If I where the mayor and I knew that a psycho killer was targeting me and this killer has people everywhere and is always really smart and can pretty much do anything he wants. The next movie should have Harley Quinn. According to the story line. When she was working at Arkham assylum, she was helping the Joker escape. That could develop her character quite well! This would make the Joker an even more interesting character!
I dig the opening sequence by the way. It's like Wayne's World, if Rufus from Excellent Adventure whisked off Wayne & Garth and gave them music lessons.
About the critique of Two-Face's transformation not making sense; I disagree. It distracts from the realism of the film, but I think that was done on purpose. They had to do something to lighten the story, or audiences would have been having psychotic breakdowns from the intensity of the movie.

I laughed as you guys went on to speak how the movie stayed with the comic book; It did the complete opposite. Yes, the actors were good, but the story was changed just for the film. Also, another thing, no one in my theater took batman seriously when he was talking like a drug addict that just got there tonsils removed. The way they ended the film was also disappointing; Joker is last seen hanging and batman runs off into the night instead of becoming the hero.
i know this is an oldish comment but i think they left out the jokers death scene because ledger died in real life, which i no is ridiculous considering this was his last complete role.

Yes, The Dark Knight was only slightly better than any other summer blockbuster. I found it extremely boring and I found Heath Ledgers performance to be average. Anyone who plays a psychopath seems to look good. Still not as bad as Batman Begins, I couldn't even watch that.

well they had to evacuate the hospital the cop who was guarding harveys room and probably responsible to get him out got killed by the joker and the other cop who got killed helped a nurse carrying some patients out. if you would have look closer you would have seen the mask he was wearing before he shot the cop. batman: played brilliantly the deep voice err well i perferd the cartoon batmans voice but thats obv since i grew up watching it

I think the reviewer here is actually over-simplifying The Joker's motivations.
The Joker doesn't just do destroy things to prove he can do it. He's someone with a philosophy and a world view that genuinely believes 'upsetting the established order' is justified, in order to let chaos reign supreme, since, as he says himself, chaos is fair. He's not just an anarchist, he's a politicised terrorist.

this and batman begins are different from any comic book movie before it. it actually made some sense and was much more realistic than something like spiderman. im not a superhero fan, but this is one of my favorite movies. heath ledger and everyone else (except for maggie gyllenhal) were phenominal.

The movie is amazing but I think there is one thing that is kinda flawed. If I where the mayor and I knew that a psycho killer was targeting me and this killer has people everywhere and is always really smart and can pretty much do anything he wants. I am not going to give a speech in front of thousands of people out in the middle of the freakin streets. Now everybody is going to say "its because you dont want to look like your backing down" Bull shit! More chaos would start if you where killed.

The next movie should have Harley Quinn. According to the story line. When she was working at Arkham assylum, she was helping the Joker escape. That could develop her character quite well! This would make the Joker an even more interesting character!

I dig the opening sequence by the way. It's like Wayne's World, if Rufus from Excellent Adventure whisked off Wayne & Garth and gave them music lessons.
About the critique of Two-Face's transformation not making sense; I disagree. It distracts from the realism of the film, but I think that was done on purpose. They had to do something to lighten the story, or audiences would have been having psychotic breakdowns from the intensity of the movie.

I laughed as you guys went on to speak how the movie stayed with the comic book; It did the complete opposite. Yes, the actors were good, but the story was changed just for the film. Also, another thing, no one in my theater took batman seriously when he was talking like a drug addict that just got there tonsils removed. The way they ended the film was also disappointing; Joker is last seen hanging and batman runs off into the night instead of becoming the hero.

Yes, The Dark Knight was only slightly better than any other summer blockbuster. I found it extremely boring and I found Heath Ledgers performance to be average. Anyone who plays a psychopath seems to look good. Still not as bad as Batman Begins, I couldn't even watch that.

Well its realy uncool that Heath Ledger past away, so he could never se how his amazing spotles performance has been resived by everyone, i mean the joker scenes in this movie i can watch them over and over again every one of them are perfect, i think Jack Nicholsen must feel realy bad about what he said of Ledger when he died. God if he was alive today they could keap making thrilling pictures like this one, but of cause Ledger was not the only one ho lost his life on this picture :( .

well they had to evacuate the hospital the cop who was guarding harveys room and probably responsible to get him out got killed by the joker and the other cop who got killed helped a nurse carrying some patients out. if you would have look closer you would have seen the mask he was wearing before he shot the cop. I feel u didnt get some scene in the movie or maybe u didnt see it and making stupid comments on something u didnt see or you didnt understand the whole movie so either way ur dumb

what u would have liked to take his place? with all the panic the joker brang when he said he was going to blow an hospital help him to enter an hospital dressed as a nurse. and if you dont remember, one of the two cops guarding harvey dent room helped another hurse to carry out some patients so the joker had no problem to take one cop out.
