ARE you kidding with only 8 buttons, you should definetely add more or 6 next to each other like those 4 buttons on right and then 4 instead of 2 on bottom + start and select on top.Dont care about 2 analogs, not fps fan.
I received my iControlPad today, but the A and X buttons were in upside down and didn't stick out properly. Hopefully they're just not in correctly and I can fix it.
is there any way you can make the controller flip? it seems kind of awkward to carry around and that youd have to dismantle it to put it in your pocket
you NEED triggers! theres a lot of fps tht could be fun but arent because of the crappy controlls what you need to change that it analog sticks and triggers so add that and i will buy also yours are a bit over priced im not gana personally spend that much without triggers and being able to play my fps in an enjoyable fashion
Looks great except from those shoulder buttons look like their in really awkward places. Are they going to be right there in the final version? I know you said that was the final version but this was a while ago.
hey could you guys make a icontrolpad that would be like a laptop so that the control pad can flip up so you do not allways have to remove the case if you want to put it in your pocket or something thanks by the way this stuff is so awsome
you want me to what pay 21 million us dollars tru pay pal haaaaaaa why don't you take your ideas to apple or a serious manufacture ohhh wait they have their own idea on your concept that's why and they don't put all their eggs in one basket you will see this next year by apple and others i think its a good idea but rather pointless
ouch thats big .... and the ipod is going to fall for sure .. not enought grip on the console to heavy not compack enought .. but ... can i give my idea .. cut thse leg on the side and forget the big side and just do a flap a cover to protect the controler and when open it serve as an holding clip for you ipod .. do it in titanium and a metal winge all metal (lots of stress on the lids ) use a flexy wire that when in it secure the ipod ... soo my idea is good hein ...
Yeah... except the buttons are normal buttons - they should be "shoulder" style. Plus it's placed for ring fingers, which aren't as good as index or middle fingers.
what a load of shit, this guy cant even get the things he makes out for sale. He take your money then bullhsits about this and that. The guy is a tool.
Interesting, I think it may be possible to make that foldable, have you thought of putting the connector in the clip, have the other end of the clip connect to the pad and relay data through the clips?
I'd like one for my HTC EVO!!! I'd prefer a wired connection, but I could live with bluetooth I suppose... Making it modular with different arms is a good idea! Then you can have different arms for different devices and the guts stay the same!! Any idea of a ship date and or pricing?
All the way through, I was thinking.. After also checking on your web site! And seeing this after a few months of sidestepping all the anticipation due to you last April post about apples design patents.. The only thing that was going through my head was.. Oh god! Why have you scrapped the old design? Ok you now have dual sticks! But where are the shoulder buttons!! Then right at the end..... Oh! There they are! Phew! Nice touch! You put so much effort into this.. Glad you have deffo whooped on
This is absolutely brilliant. I'm glad that you guys created a design that is compatible with multiple devices. I have a question though: since it may support different types of phones, does that mean the cable will be detachable? Different phones will need different cables...
Would love this on my Nexus one. For those who still don't like gaming on phone, I have PS1/NES/SNES/Genesis emulators on my phone, I'll have more games then Nintendo DS and PSP combined, so yes I do consider phones gaming devices.
Synth3t1cs haters hate?, its a decent gaming device, it got more games than any other handheld device that inkludes psp and ds you know. so. it just isnt just a gaming device. anyhow, in my opinion, i would rather have something smaller, like 2 buttons on the back. all I would need. joysticks on the screen works in many games, in combination with two or more buttons on the back it would work great.
@MeloVampire Nokia N900 is theoretically a Pandora without gaming controls but with other features (GPS, Camera, Phone, ...) so this should make N900 be abte to do nearly everything pandora could. I would also buy an iControlPad for N900 but first of all I need to sove enough money for N900 itself ;). Untill then I can use my GP2X Wiz for mobile gaming.
@TCTVCJ Really, i´m so happy with my n900, now i´m overclocking it at 950Mhz and the Graphics unit at 500Mhz, because i´m playing N64 and PSX4all emulators. I´m very hapy with this tabletPc.
@MeloVampire I know about the potencial N900 has and that's why I'm saving money for N900 and not another Smartphone/iPhone (fu Apple). Porting Pandora OS to N900 would be a great idea in my opinion because that way you'll have a lot of games and Emulators that are optimized since N900 and Pandora use exactly the same OMAP3 SoC with the difference that Pandora is optimized for gaming/emulators but iControlPad uses exactly the same buttons and analog nubs as Pandora so N900+iCP= Pandora Phone :D.
1. I really like the functionality of the latest version. But prefer the clean look of the second version. It suites the minimalistic design nature of iPhones. Is the case design final?
2. What about games that play vertically? Will it come with an add on that will mount the iPhone vertically?
@are07s Don't be so ass pained, apple fanboy. Even Steve Jobbs hates video games. iProducts will never be true gaming devices. They're just pricey toys for hipsters conformists and apple drones.
Seriously, if the iPhone was a decent gaming device there wouldnn't be any need for this product and you wouldn't be watching this video. So I guess reality says I'm right. lmao. Oh, poor you.
I hope that you guys make it work with Android. Others have gotten USB keyboards to work on Android but some handsets require a mod to the phone software. Others just need a micro USB to full USB adapter, but this would have it's own cord so that doesn't matter.
Also, make a version of the side pieces that doesn't hold the phone! This would be good for phones that you haven't gotten around to making a shell for yet. That and the Evo has a kickstand, so you wouldn't need to put it in the shell if you didn't want to. ;) The Android console emulator developer yongzh (maker of Snesoid, Nesoid, Gameboid, etc) is good with working with other devs, so I'm sure he would help out/implement support for the iControlPad in his emulators if needed.
-The slider design doesn't work too well mechanically with clips likethat (although you could probably fix it ok with the slider closed.)
-The Pre doesn't have USB host so I guess USB wouldn't work for connecting it. Bluetooth might be an idea but at the moment the drivers are very limited. (And I don't think the iControlPad does Bluetooth.)
Still, I'd love to have this on my Pre, of course.
Does it work with the Evo 3d? Evo 3d has had issues with connecting to wiimote type devices, and it is also a fairly HUGE phone

@haydendlp Its because some iPods are much thinner than the iPhone, Padding is required so the iPod is not loose in the ICP
