The unfortunate, yet real out come is that regardless of how much this movie is hyped, the same thing often occurs. - You have people, even art knowledgeable and and 'aware' who have been programed to the tune of certain kind of film; Then they go in and get this very Malick experience and deem the work slow, disconnected, etc.

Even before I saw the trailer, I read the title, "Tree of Life", something that featured in Fountain, and saw Brad Pitt was attached, and remembered that he and Cate Blanchett were the stars of the first attempt at making Fountain. I think that Pitt might regret that he dropped out of Fountain and actively sought to be part of something similar.

I love the way it is, I love Hugh and Rachel and I loev the length of the film

I consider The Fountain Aronofskys moment of warmth.

But Brad will be wonderful in the film - as he always is. I can't wait to fuuucking see it
