  • When I first listened to this, I imminently thought of Rhythm Heaven's Lockstep. xD

  • Anyone else think of Rhythm Heaven's Lockstep when they heard about this? ;P

  • this song is awesome!! i don't really listen to this band anymore after identity crisis {which is one of my favorite all time cds but wish they still sounded like this. Im sure their newer songs are fine but im not into that type of music

  • dude this song is the shiiiit... Irvine High whats up!!!!! (class of 2003) ... was listening to thrice when i was in 8th grade at Venado which was 1998 when they used to play in the quad at IHS.

  • thx for e u/l.

well i wld be lying if i were to say i didn't miss e Thrice of old but hey .. they're still one of my fave bands even after vheissu. =]

  • Oh my god, Thrice... I'm such a fan.. It doesn't matter if it is their early punk rock stuff, or their most recent Beggars, I love them so much. My favorite band by far. Everything they have done is just wonderful.

  • To me, it's impossible for Thrice to be "bad", but I definitely prefer their harder style more. Artist In The Ambulance and Illusion Of Safety, specifically. AITA is one of my favorite albums of all time. Not a bad song, and it's just pedal to the floor the entire damn thing. Their new stuff, for me, is really hit and miss. Alchemy Index being a huge miss for me, personally.

  • @MattWinton Dude I used to have exactly same thoughts about their newer stuff, untill I gave it another chance. Alchemy index have now become one of favourites, seriously.. The album representing four elements.. it's just genius. I would never call The alchemy index a huge miss, for me it's the most creative, genius and complex piece of art in newer time. But dude you shall know I respect your personal opinions, but you should seriously give The Alchemy Index another try.

  • @Thrice1stImpression I totally agree with you, The Alchemy Index and now Beggars are just awesome, each song is interesting and meaningfull...But I prefer First Impressions which is, for a first release, a masterpeace of hardcore punk with The Illusion Of Safety which contains very good songs too...

  • @Thrice1stImpression Hell yeah man, The Alchemy Index is what got me into Thrice. I was into the softer Thrice and didn't really like their heavy stuff, but I gave their heavy stuff a chance and now I love all their work.

    Thrice = <3

  • @MattWinton I've always been a solid thrice fan, but when beggars came out, I wasn't sure I liked it. But after a few listens, I listened a bit deeper and I could hear the pure quality of the rhythms and progressions of the songs and it's the same with the last couple of albums, whereas this insane band have lost their heaviness, they certainly haven't lost any quality and heart.

  • its all about identity crisis!

  • @tearitupkid89 its all about ALL their songs and albums :D

  • the lyrics on the side are wrong. It's not "I won't let Jesus" it's "I won't let distance"

  • thrice kicks ass all around so what if they grew out of the punk sound it was good but there new shit is better i think in some ways its more chill and thats what im into belive me ive been a thrice fan since first impressions but i like them better the more they matured

  • @babygage2108 fuck dude i need to get with the program and stop listening to thrice old album ha <3

  • i loved this trhice, not so much there stuff now : ( and it makes me sad .... the artist in the ambulance was the last album that i really liked, the rest is okay but its just not the same

  • They didn't intend on sounding the same their entire career, gradually all their stuff is amazing. But i will agree with you, Artist in the Ambulance was the greatest.

  • idk dude... artist in the ambulance kicked ass, but identity crisis and the illusion of safety kick some serious ass. i'd have to go with the illusion of safety. that's my favorite. it's got deadbolt, see you in the shallows, my two most favorite songs from thrice. :D

  • Yeah that's what I thought, thanks. I wish they had kept this sound.

  • Do you know what year this was recorded?

  • I think it was around the time First Impressions was recorded. Dustins voice sounds kind of the same.

    BTW it's around 1998/1999.
