I bought a VMSJB 2 weeks ago and I've already switched to LaBella Black Nylons 760...it's a unique sound. Thanks for the video, you are the man.

  • maaaan you are one talented guy. Great stuff

  • Your Squier sounds perfect. Congratulations :)

  • Nice phat sounds. I wish I could play like that. I've played this several times and I can't get enough of it.

  • BRAVO, man! I hope I can slap like that some day :)

  • @jfaristide

Honestly, probably won't take long for you to get to where I am. I really wasn't doing anything hard in this vid. It's mostly in E minor, lots of open strings. If you just practice some patterns with a metronome everyday, you'll get there in like a few weeks. But, if you watch some of the stuff Victor Wooten does.. man THAT stuff is going to take a while...

    Thanks for the comment! :)

  • Great playing!!!

  • @smile740

    Hey Thanks! Dzienkuje!

  • Yeaaaa man this was groovy, i played it likt 4 times. What program are you using?

  • @dlight247

    Thanks a lot!

"Cubase" is the sequencer. The drum loop is from "stylus rmx" and the rhode sound is "MrRay73"

  • @mastersgta1 hmmmm are all of those located within the sequencer or are they 3rd party sites?

  • @dlight247

They are all seperate plug-ins. Stylus is by Spectrasonic. MrRay73 is by KVR. Just go to their official website you can find out everything about them.

  • great!

so are you using the C scale? I, IV and V chords? and all are still 7th chords?

  • @parcoleeparco

It's a very colorful version of E minor blues. So yes, I IV V my with extended voicings.

    Em11 -- Am9 - Em11- F#m7/G - Am9 - Em11 - G7#9-

So basically for the Em you can solo with E dorian and switch to A Dorian on Am9 and back to E dorian (or minor pentatonic)

for the F#m7 use F# dorian and for the F7#9 you can use F phrygian or A half diminished.

    Thanks for the comment!

  • @dinzbassman

  • Nice Work.....

  • Good Song...I liked it

  • Very impressive! How did you get this tone? Did you change pickups or something?

  • @bartoszbudz

Pure stock setup man. These pickups are amazing. With the right string and right setting they sound just like a vintage 70's fender.

In this video i used a Zoom B2.1u DI into my audio interface using one of the Marcus Miller presets. Then I did a bit of eqs and compression in the mix. I compressed the bass and drum into one single channel and used a transient plug-in to add the punch. So yeah, with any bass, it takes quite a bit of work to get this sound.

  • @bartoszbudz

oh btw, the on the bass. I had the tone knob all the way up. (no roll-off) With both pick-up cranked high. I find that this bass is at its best with both pick-ups equal volume.

  • Mega talented and so handsome!!!

  • @gsilverstone

    Thanks Georgi!
