  • She doesn't even know what she's talking about, Marie Antoinette didn't send out ships to discover America, that was Isabella from Spain 300 years before MA. The ship in the wig represented naval victories against England. France was providing troops for the american revolution.

  • @TheTrianonmusic You're right, she is misinformed. She makes it seem as if the ship is separate and apart from the wig. Having odd and interesting ornaments in ones' hair was the style of the day. And having a ship in ones' wig was a trend called "a la belle poule" which many women wore including Marie, as they competed to have the most extravagant and witty coiffure. The hairdo was created to celebrate the victory of the ship "La belle poule" in a battle that occured during (1775-1785).
