@wutzzz138 bullies aren't bred to be quick and agile, they were bred mostly for appearance and temperament. They were bred to be smaller and less hyper than the APBT. Some people use them in sports such as weight pulling because of their muscle mass and willingness to please. I still prefer Staffordshire bulls and pit bull terriers though.However they have become a fashion accessory lately and suddenly everyone is mistaking these guys for the APBT... Disgraceful isn't it?

@peevy23 How old is he? I have an 8 month old... Best thing is to take him out for quick paced walks... As pups bullies love to play and will go as long as you will. So take him on quick paced walks and mix it up with light jogs here and there. Also play lots of tug-of-war! They love that crap for some reason, lol. If you want some more tips just hit me up!

i do to. I've owned two pits male/female. The male comes in at 60 pounds and my bitch comes in at 47-50. My point is that is hard to fathom seeing a 35 pound Male purebred pitbull because i've never seen one that small (maybe a female but definately not a male).

While most English Bulldogs are wrecked there are breeders who breed healthy dogs. They don't have much success in shows but they don't care. The same goes for Mastiffs and all other breeds. Look for the right breeder

It is absolutely true that when you pack on muscle you do give up some speed and some cardio. That, however, does not mean you are not healthy.
My bodyguard is a powerlifter. He cannot run for an hour like I can but he is healthy as can be.
One cannot compare "too much muscle" to a problem like lets say the GSD where the dog is literally crippled by the shortness of his backlegs. Bullies have a little less endurance than the real pitbull but that is not a problem really.
college and after some time i went back and started a basketball team with my law firm. I really could not believe how un-athletic i had become from years of not playing and packing on so much muscle to my body, i literally could barely run. I was running around at 5'8" and 236 pounds !! i was just a mess athleticly. 1) The Bully won't have a negative influence on the pitbull because purists (like Colby) will always breed for 30 to 50 pound athletic dogs.
2) The Bully does NOT have any health problems as of yet.
When you breed for more mass you get more power and less cardio. The same with people. A long distance runner can do things a power lifter cannot and vice versa.
But less cardio than a pitbull cannot be compared to a dog which cannot breathe properly, mate or give birth without help, had hip and skin problems and bad hearts to top it all off like the Bulldog does.
We would not look at a human power lifter and say he is sick because he cannot run as long as a marathon runner.
And we could not expect a marathon runner to lift the kind of poundage a power lifter can.
A 90 pound pitbull is DEAD wrong if we look at it from a true pitbull purists point of view. But in reality a 90 pound dog will be more powerful than a 40 pound one.
Look at the leopard for example:
It is the pound for pound most capable cat on earth. Athletic as can be and mean to the core. If that leopard ran into a lion which has ZERO cardio but tons of power the leopard would be lunch.

So take him on quick paced walks and mix it up with light jogs here and there. Also play lots of tug-of-war! They love that crap for some reason, lol. If you want some more tips just hit me up!

My 2 cents...I could care less. This guy wanted to breed big ass pitbulls...well...mission accomplished. That being said , this owner has gotten away from the breed standard. Its clear that Neo Mastiff has been added to this dogs heritage at some point. This dog is too big. It almost looks like a wild boar. If one is willing to look hard enough one will find healthy and typey dogs in every breed. It is up to the person who buys a dog to make sure that cripples don't sell.
While most English Bulldogs are wrecked there are breeders who breed healthy dogs. They don't have much success in shows but they don't care. The same goes for Mastiffs and all other breeds. Look for the right breeder

It is absolutely true that when you pack on muscle you do give up some speed and some cardio. That, however, does not mean you are not healthy.
My bodyguard is a powerlifter. He cannot run for an hour like I can but he is healthy as can be.
One cannot compare "too much muscle" to a problem like lets say the GSD where the dog is literally crippled by the shortness of his backlegs. Bullies have a little less endurance than the real pitbull but that is not a problem really.

I really could not believe how un-athletic i had become from years of not playing and packing on so much muscle to my body, i literally could barely run. I was running around at 5'8" and 236 pounds !! i was just a mess athleticly. I made a decesion right then and there to get myself to around 200 pounds and at my height that is still rather large. once i did that everything was much better for me and i feel >

But... To compare a Bully to the English Bulldog is like comparing a big monkey to King Kong...
1) The Bully won't have a negative influence on the pitbull because purists (like Colby) will always breed for 30 to 50 pound athletic dogs.
2) The Bully does NOT have any health problems as of yet.
When you breed for more mass you get more power and less cardio. The same with people. A long distance runner can do things a power lifter cannot and vice versa.

A 90 pound pitbull is DEAD wrong if we look at it from a true pitbull purists point of view. But in reality a 90 pound dog will be more powerful than a 40 pound one.
Look at the leopard for example:
It is the pound for pound most capable cat on earth. Athletic as can be and mean to the core. If that leopard ran into a lion which has ZERO cardio but tons of power the leopard would be lunch.

IF size does not matter then why are ALL combat "sports" set in weight classes? That goes for people AND dogs.
The small man's dream is that size does not matter but in reality it is the deciding factor more often than not.
In general a larger man, or animal, will have LESS athleticism and MORE power. In nature large animals dominate the smaller ones.
The pitbull is the supreme athlete but not the supreme powerhouse.

@TheCaneCorso yeah but when you try to do something like catchdog work with wild boars these dogs will get killed cause they are not athletic enough, my game bred large pit will run all day, but these dogs are too overdone with muscle and fat and will get tired then killed if you were hunting, or even a dog fight (which is what they were bread for)

If as you say the dogs were bred to fight then they could NEVER be bred for just fat and overdone with muscle (whatever that means)
I don't see fat in these dogs... They have loads of muscle which translates into power. Do they have less cardio than a normal pitbull? Yes...
Do they have more power than a normal pitbull... YES.
Look at it this way...
If you like power get a bully...
If you want an athlete get a pitbull.

1) Colby would be 100 percent against a 90 pound pitbull so my guess is that other than knowing his name you don't know anything about pitbulls nor colby.
Old school dog men HATE when pitbulls get to be bigger than max 50 pounds. ONLY novices like yourself are impressed with size.
2) I don't own bullies. I like them but they are not my breed.
