im been on roaccutane and the only side effects ive had it dryness of the skin and eyes and my hair has got a bit thinner but altogether the medication has worked :)
I'm torn because i've had acne for 7 years and have been on two forms of the pill, and antibiotics and cream and nothing works. I wanna try roaccutane but the side effects sound a bit evil o_O
@kukimiyo I think you should go on it too. All the side effects are manageable to be honest. I have been on it for close to 2 months now, and loving it every bit. You see the improvement straight away.
I use:
Lips: Lucas Papaw Ointment
Dry eyes: Polygel and Sustane
Shampoo + conditioner: Dermaveen (it's oat)
Body wash + moisturiser: dermaveen or cetaphil
Sunscreen: Cetaphil (or Neutrogena)
Nose: vaseline.
I promise you will not regret it! It's so worth it.
can i ask what face wash you use/used whilst on roaccutane? i don't want to use anything too harsh for when i start my course. is there anything you'd recommend?
Really cool video I took my first one today really hoping it does good things for me had enough of being so conscious of my skin just want my life and my confidence back =)
@mannion1985 aww i really hope its doing good things for you too! I know exactly how you feel acne can really knock your confidence and make you feel rubbish so i hope it works :) xx
Hi Laura, thank for doing this video. I was just wondering, if they prescribe you with the correct amount of tablets and they make the appointments to coincide with the dosage, how is it possible to run out?
Also, how bad does the acne actually have to be before they will be prescribed and do adults take them? Thanks again.
@gdshphrd2 thats okay! :) Because you have to make the appointments yourself and where i live there really bad for getting appointments for people so sometimes it can take a while. but i just ring well in advance :)
Well i'm not too sure.. mine isnt the worst case by far.. but i'm getting a lot of scarring.. and because i've had them since i was like 10 or 11 the doctor decided i should have the tablets again! i think different doctors have different opinions though :) x
ur skin looks good hun!!! i wanted to go on it but my doctor wont give it to me...:( he said that my skin isnt bad enuff but it really gets me down :( Xx
@beccygreeneyes Thankyou soo much! oh noo :( thats rubbish, you should just tell him how much its getting you down and things.. i know some doctors are really against it and that so that could be whyy! xx
I took roaccutane for 4 months and it cleared up my acne and my side affects were really dry skin but I didn't mind cause it was working but it came back so I took it for 6 months and its been 2 years on and it hasn't came back since, obviasly I still get the odd spot but I thinks its different for everyone, wished I knew about it before so I didn't have to suffer all those years. Great Video!
@ximmyphoebsx the dry skin is horrible... but definately worth it! ahh thats so good.. i'm so glad for you that they've gone.. i cannot wait until i finish my course! hope it works this time :) thankyou, i'm glad you enjoyedd x

HelenaCheryl 4 months ago
@HelenaCheryl You can wear it, i'd reccomend though a tinted moisturiser, or a very moisturising foundation, maybe a bb cream x
