Dostoevsky was a genious, I've read the book in Russian and it's ... fantastic, very meaningful and very well written. I really loved it.

But this is quite disappointing... I doesn't seem natural, authentic at all, you just don't believe it when you're watching it...

And, well, I didn't imagine Raskolnikov like that.

in the book Raskolnikov is described as VERY HANDSOME man! and this guy is... so not him :(

This version was made in 2007 and the director is Dmitri Svetozarov. I've also been looking for one with English subtitles and so far I haven't found any :(

When was it made? Maybe I can find it here in the US. The casting is perfect, it's exactly how Dostoyevsky descsribed them!!!

I can't imagine anyone could have chosen Peter Lorre to play Roskolnikov.
